If they lose Game 5, I could see that happening in Game 6.. Put Marner with Tavares for a game..
Nylander and Tavares are not clicking at all.. Tavares looks tired after every shift, I guess from battling along the boards and then having no one to pass the puck too becausem who knows where Nylander went?
I agree on the Kerfoot assessment, hasn't done much on the top line.. Put Bunting back up there with Matthews and Marner, move Kerfoot to the 4th line for Game 5.
Need Campbell to come up big again, like in game 1 and 3.
I would even try Clifford again on the 4th line.
Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Mikheyev-Tavares-Kase
Engvall-Kampf-Nylander
Clifford-Kerfoot-Spezza/Simmonds.
Rielly Lyubushkin
Muzzin Brodie
Gio Liljegren
If they come out flat and lose tomorrow night.. Then who knows what they'll do in Game 6..

Put Kerfoot with Nylander, worked last year. Why does Keefe have no memory of this. |

Home ice lineup matches will keep Cirelli off AM34's back to a much greater degree.
It would help if Cirelli was hurt though (he's not). Not fun having to play against a Selke type player doing Selke-like things. |

How would you make that work? Kerf-Snake-Willie? |

There wasn't a snake last year, I think Willy played center if memory serves me correct.
I'd put Clifford with them. |

Kerf was the C (replacing Snake) on the 2nd line with Willie playing RW.
My Kerf-Snake-Willie suggestion is the only one that makes sense to me with this lineup if you wanted to reunite Kerf-Willie. |

IMHO, you don't dump Kampf to the 4th line to make room for Kerfoot at 3C.

For the record, I would not be especially happy seeing Kerf in the Top 6. |

I'll play the role of radical idea guy. I felt the offence was most dangerous when Kerfoot was with Spezza on line 4, for the same reason they had success with Willie on line 3. Because they were a threat offensively and having that 3rd line another team has to contain is a game changer. That, and Kerfoot is a stopgap everywhere else that plays well enough but doesn't exactly move any needles... So why not.
Bunting / Matthews / Marner
Mikheyev / Tavares / Nylander
Engvall / Kampf / Kase
Kerfoot / Blackwell / Spezza
That 4th line can take a lot more minutes, that really diversifies how the other team looks to contain the top two lines. |

Yeah, I like the look of that 4th line. We're not going to be able to construct an energy/grind line as our 4th so why not try to beat them with skill there? Wouldn't be shocked if Keefe wants to go back to the Simmonds well though.
For the record, I was just trying to figure out how you could configure lines to reunite Kerf-Willie. Frankly, I'm not really in favour of it despite their success as a duo last playoff. |

I think the lines need to look significantly different on the road then at home |
