Lol I read your post wrong… thought it was about Holl

But a lot of people hate Ovie as well… ask Wedgie for his opinion for instance lol

- Dozzer

It’s weird how I hate guys who prop up dictators who are perpetuating crimes against humanity.

But he can score goals, so media and the general public should ignore all that and not ask him hard questions, because hockey!

And that’s fine, but we all need to recognize they are interchangeable 6/7, and they are going to come in and out of the lineup based on the coach’s thoughts.

I’m going to check who I said was going to be my whipping boy this year, but at this point, I don’t hate a single Leafs player.

I haven’t been able to say that since 1993.

I said Holl and Muzzin were going to be a great shutdown pairing again.

When I looked back on the prediction thread, when I was right, I was right, but when I was wrong, oh boy was I wrong.

Not to brag or anything, but my predictions were pretty franking good.

I predicted Tavares would regress and Leafs fans would turn on him, and I was wrong on that.

But damn, everything else was bang-on.

I don’t hate Holl he is what he is (and what he’s paid to be). That being said I’d prefer to have Lilly in over Holl but I think I understand why Keefe put Holl in - No Simmonds or Clifford and he wanted the bigger body.

I’ll defer the line up decisions to Keefe after the way last nights line up performed & the result.

Weird to read this:

The Leafs practiced in Tampa on Saturday and did not make any lineup changes, but did move Alex Kerfoot back to the top line with Matthews and Marner, shifted Pierre Engvall to the third line with Mikheyev and Kampf, and Michael Bunting to the fourth line with Blackwell and Spezza.

So is Keefe thinking for tomorrow:

Marner - Matthews - Kerfoot
Willy - JT - Kase
Mik - Kampf- giraffe
Spezza-Blackwell-Bunting LOL

Interesting.

Side note - I have discovered the real reason you dislike Muzzin……it’s totally a Strathroy people hate Woodstock people isn’t it! 😁🤣😆

- Cush29

Your Holl assessment makes too much sense. Pretty sure if you have him as the 7th D you want him fired into the sun. It's the only way.

BTW, everybody hates Woodstock people.

Maybe not, though. We're teetering right there.

I lowballed the points of just about everyone on the team And talked up Mrazek. But I think I was only 0.02 %pts away from Campbells season save percentage.

Nailed that we'd jettison Dermott for a steady stay at home D. It's not exactly how it went but I'm 100% counting it.

Shhhhhhhhhh

As for the forwards I’m willing to bet that Kerfoot and Bunting get flipped back and forth… it will be dependant on if Keefe is trying to be offensive or defensive I think

As for the D men I prefer Holl over Liljegren when it comes to having to play such physical games

I also predicted Dermott would not finish the season as a Leaf.

I hope he finds his game in Vancouver, but man, he was a 20 gallon drum of meh.

Do I think Holl deserves to be resigned after next year? We’ll see but nothing guaranteed currently. He’s a solid physical d man which the leafs currently need tho so I like him in the lineup.

People won’t have to see me standing up for him for very long today tho because I got the ZZ Top concert tonight

- Dozzer

Hmmm, really?

Not complaining about Holl, god forbid, but the last two words I would use to describe Holl are solid or physical.

There’s multiple American players who support the non stop wars that country involves itself in… and I haven’t agreed with all those but I’m not going to judge a player on their political viewpoint. The game isn’t about politics.

He’s big as hell and that’s why he is. I’m not basing this on talent.

Liljegren gets knocked around far more.

Yeah absolutely he is. He was just a tweener that nobody had the balls to send down and lose for nothing. I do hope he turns into a reliable #5 or 6 for Vancouver. But he's a good 6th or 7th D for a team not near the playoffs. Just not the right type of #7 for a playoff team. I actually think Holl is a really good 7th D for a playoff team. He's well cast in the role he's in now and I can appreciate that.

I haven't seen any player as big as Holl get knocked around more than him. He's not strong. Especially in front of the net, which is where the Leafs need it most. Brodie's only weakness in my opinion, is the same. Tying guys up out front. Lily isn't any worse at that than Holl.
Both are probably slightly below average at winning board battles. I actually think Lily might be better than Holl at it, if that's what you mean by "big"

I simply disagree with you. Liljegren gets pushed around like crazy, Holl is bigger and stronger and when he’s on the bottom end of things people only notice more because he’s so big.

Liljegren’s physical game is not good… he’s getting better but he’s not there yet

I'll allow it. I won't disagree that Lily needs to add some muscle, but I think you're overrating Holls strength. It's just not there.

I watched most Vancouver Games, He was invisible out there, which probably wasn't a bad thing.
