I'm saying look at the longstanding pattern of this hockey team. I would have been ok with a hard fought loss tonight. This is a joke, and just basically...leafy.

Ditto…..that’s been my beef year after year after year of coming up short! At least put up a fight, show some pride.

So what happens if these guys come up short again this year in the first round?? Who goes, who stays……do they change anything at all??

Really need ya JT… 1 goal… 1 in your last 12 games just isn’t nearly good enough no matter what else you do. You simply must be better … much better.

How about we worry about that only if it happens? It’s 2-2 after 4 games of a 7 game series for god sakes.

I find all the negativity and narrative about how this is the Leafs showing the same issues as they have had in past playoffs nauseating. PTSD or not it’s now a best 2 of 3 series and nobody has a win yet.

Go Leafs Go.

If a game is over 2/3rd of the way through for you I can’t say anything to change your mind and I won’t bother trying.

The top line has has 2 tough games of 4 but feel free to pretend they have been struggling in all 4 games is it suits your narrative, I think your wrong but that’s my opinion.

Just wondering what percentage of games in NHL playoff history has a team come back and won after trailing 5-0 after 2 periods.

I was pretty confused as to what Engvall got 10 for - maybe 10 for too long a neck? Lol

7-3 with 2 empty net goals is not a “dominating” win in my opinion.

Tampa was definitely better tonight but they are not the Harlem Globetrotters and the Leafs are not the Washington Generals.

Game 5 should be a good one.

- Cush29

5-0 going into the 3rd.
Pretty dominating.

Leafs gotta win the next game.
Then tampa can slaughter them in game 6

Then the leafs game win game 7.
Keep the pattern going.

Sorry for tonight eh. Tough to watch there boys - I felt all your collective frustration.

I thought this tweet was pretty on point (pun intended):

“Brayden Point has 2 Cups and his
teams winning 6-3 and he just
showed more anger and emotion than
any Leaf all night.”
- Bryan Hayes (TSN)

Sums it up pretty well. I agree with Hrudy that o honest to his thought this team was different and they still might be!…but didn’t look like it today.

I agree with some on here that Wayne Train and Clifford need to draw back in…and I love Dozzer man!! But Liligren should come in to me. Holl isn’t nearly as bad as some of you boys chirp but he’s also not very good. His impact is usually PK. He’s big but easy to knock around and a softy. I think Liligren adds more on the offence (2nd unit PP with Gio) than Holl does on PK. Their PK has been decent their PP is failing. Liligren puts in better minutes in my opinion and Holl had tough game last game (2 goals NOT the entire game) were a direct result of his error and tonight right off the bat giveaway costs again. Just too slow mentally and physically. Seems sometimes he either ices pick or gives it away.

Cool why try to do something incredible and rare, better to just throw your hands up and say it's impossible and not try.

Pretty dominating.

Yep, dominating 2 periods. Nobody can tell me Tampa didn't keep their foot on the gas, the Leafs showed some push back in the 3rd. They didn't lay down and to me that's the silver lining.

I'll borrow a few words from an old Dustin Hoffman movie. 'Is it safe" to post on here tonight? Got to start the game on time. Muzz was ready to rip something to shreds in the post presser.

I'd like to see Clifford back for game 5. If he keeps his head on straight, he'll provide a bit of energy we need.

And....Simmons is totally useless at this point.

M'eh - I thought some of the Leafs seemed emotionally engaged - Reilly for instance. Toronto media loves to poop on the Leafs any chance they get.

Simmonds or Clifford in for game 5 I'm find with - not both for me. Spezza needs another game at least to me.

I really wanted a win tonight. Because I'm a jaded scarred leaf fan with PTSD and going home with a 3-1 lead would be exponentially more comforting.

Even with a tough game to watch when you look at the series as a whole, there's stuff to like even for the most damaged of leaf fans. This isn't Montreal or Columbus we're playing here, there are bound to be moments in a series against an opponent like this you feel like your team doesn't belong, Tampas had those moments too.

If we want to look at this as the same ol, I get it. I really do. But why.... What does that do. Spending your life cheering for a team waiting for them to crumble so you can say I told you so doesn't seem like a quality sporting experience. 🤔

Like I said ealier, the game was over but the leafs had to push back get a few goals to carry some mo into next game
Same script as we previously saw earlier in the series.

Leafs gotta win game 5. Keep the pattern going

Its been a weird post season so far. Every night goalies are giving up 5 or more. The amount of penalties being called is also surprising.

Was it Simmons who said what we were all thinking to Keefe post-game? What a terrible question from a reporter but he's not wrong for once 😂

Edit: I should also say I don't believe that's why they lost. Top line and 2nd line need to be much better. Those are the big money players.

All true but for context it reads a lot like the Barkov/Huberdeau, McDavid/Draisatl, MacKinnon eras.

NHL playoffs are not for the faint of heart. Win 2 of 3 and they'll have slaughtered one big demon. If not then ....ch ch ch changes are probably coming.
