I don't agree, especially at home with last card. Even on the road if you feel you can replace an ineffective player it's worth the risk.
- golfingsince

The leafs won the game because the D as a whole did the damn job.

So do not change it.

I trust Keefe in this. I did not think Liljegren was bad. I wonder if this was about resting him and giving Holl some ice to stay sharp. It is (hopefully) a long grind.

It's plausible that this was just rest. It is Liljegren's first NHL season.

more learning for the rookie Liljegren from the press box

That’s was Brendan Lemieux, whom I mentioned earlier as nasty and dirty. That one was a bad cross check.
- Cush29

Very dirty hit. Barrie didn’t expect to be hit in that situation.

This is what matters to me.

Justin Holl:
Giveaways 56, turnover differential -38 (team worst).

Can't have that this time of year.

Minus 3 cause he was on ice for the empty netters

And Muzzin and Brodie were on ice for them as well.

Way to go not mentioning the explanation

- Dozzer

Still makes him -1 and Muzzin even. But the first empty netter was all on him laying face first on the ice, way not to mention that.

When the game got to 3-2 the leafs truly relied on D… they pulled it off so they shouldn’t be changed
- Dozzer

I was think about Yost article that the Leafs can hold on to lead in a game ...

They looked far from controlled though. It was pretty scrambly for quite a while. Campbell was huge.

Really depends on what the coach is seeing.

What the hell is going on?

Holl Hate or Lilly Love?

Both are Leafs we need to play well guys.

Yup, and his team lost due to him not doing his job or it would have been tied in the late third and the leafs wouldn’t have had opportunities to score on an empty net.

However when his team wins he plays a HUGE role

Holl looked good in the first, that's about it to me.

I mainly disagreed with the bolded. Obviously Lilly is the future.

IDGAF what the Leafs do, but as the coach I'd be tempted to put Lilly back in. I see the argument about a winning lineup, but it's one game not a streak.

They were using the primary shutdown pairing of Muzzin and Brodie so if you’re gonna criticize poor defensive play make sure you pin it on the guys who were on the ice

Holy poop this is exactly my point.

It’s why you don’t change the lineup.

Neither.

Just a suggestion to move lili back in, then the anger came out.

Anyways, the point was that they all make mistakes. Whether Holl makes more or not I don't know but there are these things called stats that say he does.

Oh I know… Liljegren is the future.

However the future isn’t now. So stick with the winning lineup.

The team....not just the D.
Again, if he stays in, no biggie.
But its also no biggie to move lili back in.

f'n yeah man ...

those were the day of being a goalie

- dmnted

Oh I wore DR horse hair stuffed pads as a kid. After they got nice and wet they would be 10 lbs each. Lol

I’ll get modern gear but that looks like old school.

Something like this but I’d likely go white where the black is.

Holl was responsible for the first goal against. He never should have pinched.

They won a tight game.

Tight games rely on D big time.

Do not change the D.

End of story.

Me too.

If anyone chose Muzzin over him they’d be absurdly biased
