Whatever adjustments TBL made they were able to set up more easily and the D were more vulnerable in game 2. Gio and Lilli also had a tough night. Keefe has always liked Holl on the PK. It’s not a shocking move.

Here is how you beat the Bolts and take command of this series.

Early in the game, as early as possible, have Clifford jump Perry and beat him senseless. Give him the Claude Lemieux treatment. You will lose Clifford for the rest of the game and maybe a couple more, but then you put Spezza in his place. Taking out Perry is worth it if all you sacrifice is Clifford. Just make sure to dress Simmonds the next game to handle the inevitable retaliation.

Kill off the resulting penalty, then do the same thing to Cernak. Cernak is their only solid right-handed d-man. Their whole right side collapses without Cernak. It forces Sergachev to play on his off-side. Sergachev has already struggled in this series, on his off-side he is ripe to be exploited further.

Park somebody in front of Vasi always. Vasi can't save what he can't see, no matter how dialed in he might be.

Shadow Point. Don't give him an inch of space. He's playing hurt, so this will force Stamkos to be #1 center. Stammer sucks at face-offs and isn't great defensively. He's already underwater statistically against the Matthews line. Without a pick your poison choice of the Point line or Stamkos line, the Bolts are ordinary. Stamkos line is already neutralized at even strength, do the same thing to Point and the series is over.

Except for the aforementioned beatdowns, stay out of the goddamn box. Lightning will be pissy and vengeful after losing Perry and Cernak to beatdowns. Let them take the lion's share of penalties while trying to get revenge, then pick them apart on the PP.

I would be ok if both were back in the lineup.. As long as they don't do anything dumb after the whistle or you know, get suspended again. I do think one of them sits tonight though.

I would sit Blackwell as well, and put Spezza in.

Both of these line ups look really good.

The conclusion I see is "wow", nice to have the depth and options for once. Let's hope Keefe sees it too.

I do like Monkey's 2nd line better. I know JT and Willy weren't doing well together before but it's time to try it again.

JT needs Willy's playmaking and so does Mickey and that line needs Mickey's speed to back off the D or get back on D while JT gets his slow ass up and down the ice.

Holl sucks. Blackwell has been pretty sucky. Engvall is too good for line 4 and I dont think Kase cuts it on line 1.
I dont mind reuniting Willy and JT though.
I can't decide if it's good or bad to sit both Simmer and Clifford.

Too much tinkering just because of a loss isn't really a good idea to me.

Like I said skate, control the puck and push the tempo. Ignore Buffoon and Perry let the refs deal with their antics. They're poor man versions of Marchand.

And look at that too, put Vintage out there with Engvall and Blackwell and Blackwell produces. Maybe it helps not having stone hands death to offence Simmonds out there.

Solid game and big win. Now need to take the other one on the road
