We just attended Blue Rodeo not long ago there and didn’t need to prove our vaccinations

How much did you pay for your tickets? We’ve figured out that the post covid concerts don’t seem to ever sell out so the prices drop in the week leading up to the show. It’s why we bought them yesterday… they were something like $125 each but we waited and got them for $82 with a $15.75 fee each yesterday. We’re not down on the floor but in section 107 so we still have a great view.

The name eludes me - you might remember it if you went to these places - there was some night club near Queen & Duncan that you entered through an alley. It was somewhat upscale. I was hanging with some guys from work who liked that type of place (I tended to aim towards the $2 / beer and since I was more in the goth scene at the time, didn't much give a rat's ass for the after hours work scene). Anyway, we're in line and the bouncer comes and won't let me in because I'm wearing construction boots. I'm like, "They're police boots, dude," - and he's immediately about to say, "Oh. That's okay, then," you can see it on his face - but one of the guys I as with comes up and starts yelling at the bouncer and the bouncer just says, "Well that's that, then." And walks forward without lifting his arms pushing this guy down the alley and out to the curb.

The bounced guy, who was typically a pretty affable guy, looked stunned and starts laughing, "Holy poop. He didn't even use his arms. I think he beat the poop out of me with his chest!"

Aiming to meet up beforehand for a drink together. Really want to see them since due to my frequency at the hospital for my lobectomy during covid we haven’t seen each other in person since January 2020.

ZZ top are great fun live. One of the best live bands in the world is in Toronto tonight so say eff the leafs. Go see Nightwish instead. Your gf will thank you.

I’ll bring one along but I doubt we need to wear one. We didn’t at all for The Blue Rodeo show which is good because it would have been in the way of the beers I had lol

Lol I’m not in Toronto. I live in London… and she’s at work and I’m not allowed to drive due to my seizures… and while it’s not across the country… it’s likely a tad pricey of a cab ride lol

Some will wear them some won't, no biggie - sign of the times. At least its not a distraction like some imbecile trying to record a song he/she could get a better copy of from the net instead he/she chooses to not enjoy the moment and distract others in the area.

On Monday I was a tad annoyed there wasn’t going to be a Saturday leafs game this weekend, however as of yesterday I’m now pleased there isn’t one that night lol

The Missus loves Blue Rodeo so we go every time they’re in town. I really enjoy a good harmonica player and Jim Cuddy is really good.

Actually I have seen him play - but not bass. He played guitar and harmonica on the Big Bad Blues tour (Gibbons' solo tour in 2018) I've seen a few clips on youtube of the new show.

Btw, sweet link you posted… I’ve played Jesus Just Left Chicago tons of times myself when I was a lot younger and still played in a cover band. That band name was The Sydenham River Band lol (we were from Strathroy)
