Agree completely. Point a game all season, don't expect any less moving forward.

My line of thinking was how to get rid of the Mrazek deal and clear big cap space at the same time.

It would be funnier if they didnt go to the finals last year and didnt have a shot at a great player this draft.

Add another record…

Mrazek will be gone after this season, probably by trade if not he will be bought out, JT will be here for the duration of his deal. If he wants a Spezza deal and a lesser role, they will re-sign him IMO.

Not accurate - "probably" implies likely - so a greater than 50% chance of the 1st overall. In fact it is a 25.5% chance at 1st overall, 18.8% chance at 2nd overall, and 55.7% chance at 3rd overall. Still a good pick, but probably 3rd - Sorry

Feels like the NHL gave that to Pittsburgh somehow.

What about the odds of the pick being in Montreal and the lottery being rigged?

Sounds like a 100% chance to me.

Big difference here a - Bettman's master plan to "grow the game" involves only bankrupt US teams.

Boston’s Brad Marchand has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Slashing Carolina’s Pyotr Kochetkov.

The precedent has now been sent.. Someone needs to take a baseball like swing at Vasilievskiy tomorrow night

he played 49 seconds...

Good god. That's what you have to contribute here today?

The exact amount of time he was on the ice was clearly not even close to the point in what I posted - it's amusing to me (but mostly just pathetic) that you feel the need to jump in here and correct me.

FYI he was in the game for 7 minutes actually and had 49 seconds of "Ice Time" if you want to get technical.

Give it a rest.

Well I guess it's good he got something but a 5K fine for that?

Hard to argue there was no clear intent to injure but then again it's Marchand so.....

Fine - Keep it up and see how that plays out for you. You have been provided with a fair bit of rope in the way you post here, it's up to you as to how that rope is used.

Not overly concerned about clean, not expecting clean from any team in the playoffs. When you give a team 7 power plays it is a game changing advantage. To my biased eye if I give Leafs 7 penalties, I certainly give Tampa 8 or 9, certainly not 3 and an even up call when the game is over.
- winsix

I couldn't agree more, last night's officiating was gross. I was just saying Boston and Montreal are far dirtier, so this series isn't agitating me as much on the they are dirty (frank)ers front.

The Leafs didn't capitalize in their power play opportunities, that was the difference in the game, plain and simple.

After 2 periods, penalties given to both teams were pretty even with the Lighting going 2-4 and the Leafs going 0-3 in the power play.

Had the Leafs scored just once in the power play through the first two periods, it would have been a different game going into the 3rd and the Leafs could've probably squeaked out a win!
