Thought it was a reasonably close game - The Leafs were easily the better team in the first, but came out behind on a semi-lucky bounce to Hedman, with just 3 seconds remaining. I think a couple of crappy bounces, and Vasy playing lights outwas the difference. otehrwise a closely played game.

If the leafs scored 3 on a "lights out Vasy" then the lightning need him to be even better or play the greatest series he has ever played in his career. Leafs are showing their scoring prowess.

Not overly concerned about clean, not expecting clean from any team in the playoffs. When you give a team 7 power plays it is a game changing advantage. To my biased eye if I give Leafs 7 penalties, I certainly give Tampa 8 or 9, certainly not 3 and an even up call when the game is over.

The leafs got a tonne of huge chances, and vasy made some really big saves. I mean, i guess hes probably capable of being better given hes one 9f the best, but he was good and absolutely robbed the leafs of a couple of goals. That was a big part of the difference imo. Theyll have to keep generating tonnes of chances though, becasue its not easy tobget 3 or 4 by him.

Its like a 20% chance, no biggie. Even if they do get shane wright, theyre a long ways from icing a contending team. Theyre weak at nearly every position now. No elite forwards, no dmen rhat are legit first pairing on a contending team (and their number 1 dman is 34), and potentially no goalie. I dont see them causing Ny problems for the leafs anytime soon. Theyre basically starting a rebuild.

I was thinking about that last night.. perhaps he and Mrazek to AZ .. they have to get to the floor and need players. AZ has a ton of picks they could help the Leafs with a few.

It's more than a little puzzling to me that Tampa can roll Perry and for some reason Keefe won't roll Spezz.. He instantly brings more Offense to whatever line he's on.. and he can still 2nd PP effectively.. I don't get it.. and he can still on occasion still chuck'm...

Spezz is a better hockey player than Simmonds, and should play while Simmonds rides the pine. End of story.

Agreed and I'd be shocked (and angry) if he doesn't get into game 3. Simmonds needs a rest / time out for the bonehead penalty last night and his general ineffectiveness in game 2. Clifford had more (positive) impact in the 5 minutes he played in game 1 than Simmonds did last night.

Someone else said Clifford, Spezza on the wings of the 4th line and I'm all in on that, as far as who centre's that line - I think they may have to move around some pieces but I'm not sure Blackwell is who I want there in game 3 he's been pretty m'eh to me.

Cannot comment on game 1 other than it looked like a blow out. Game 2 was closer than the score showed even without Marners softy.
