😂👍

Maybe the fact the OIL had 4-1oa’s & sucked for years us why ppl dislike them.

I’m guessing it’s their fans and the way they behave but who knows? Lol *shrugs shoulders*

You’re saying this because he mis-cleared the puck on TB’s first goal?

I’m only kidding… I’m happy to see how he’s been playing and I’m also happily admitting I was wrong to think so lowly of him

- Dozzer

He's been good. I am happy the leafs have really taken their time getting their players back from injury.

Campbell, Muzzin, Kase all look the better for it.

They are what they are. No love lost here. Dysfunctional management for so long it’s easy to dislike them wasting picks & McD.

I shook my head a bit due to what Muzzin did that lead to TB’s first goal (he tried to clear the puck a little too quickly) but I also accepted it was due to high energy from him just getting back into the lineup pretty much right before the playoffs.

Like the line mixups towards the end of the game… Kase might get moved from the 4th line.

And Campbell still made a lot of good saves tonight… I’m willing to bet he comes back even stronger next game

Cliff will be back
- Canada Cup

As much as I enjoyed Game 1, that was a unicorn, us out-toughing another team; it wasn't real, it was like Marty McFly knocking out Biff and then launching a career as a middleweight boxer.

Get back to up-tempo puck pursuit hockey; embody Mitch Marner at his best every shift line to line.

I'd rather we roll 4 lines that can score, because the hardest part of beating TBL is going to be Vaseline Boy in net.

Fat Buffoon and Whorey Fairy aren't going to be the difference-makers.

I haven't looked so honest question, how has he done as far as quality of competition and how he and his line are holding up against them. Getting caved in or breaking even?

Dunno, but that guy is supposed to be a #1 centre, I've barely noticed him

Ready for Spezza to get into the lineup. I like Simmer when a game's out of hand, but if it's going to be squeaky clean pre-season reffing, I'd rather we iced 4 lines that can score.
- gravyface

Once the leafs ice a squeaky clean 4 lines the refs will put the whistles away.

It’s a lose lose situation for the leafs.

I miss Holl, now you guys don’t have a guy to blame when they have a loss like tonight

Tbh tho… I’d be interested in what running the 11F and 7D lineup would look like in the playoffs

I agree. Sometimes he's kind of invisible and it's a good thing. He consistently gets points without anyone noticing. But now he needs to step up and be noticably good.
To be honest, I don't see it happening, which pains me to say. And I hope I'm wrong.

Mission is to get a split in TB. Anything better of course. I’m not sold on Campbell mostly due do to his technique style. Vasy will be the big hurdle cuz I don’t see TB having another off game & getting shut out.

Lastly JT has to play up to his contract.

Well if they were going to lose tonight at least they didn’t stop pushing and came back to make the score somewhat respectable. They don’t do that in past years.

They showed Tampa they are for real and never feel they are out of a game - that (to me) is a huge shift in their mentality and very good for them.

I still feel like the Leafs can win this series but it will be a 6 or 7 game series as many predicted snd makes sense considering the teams involved.

I also think Spezza and Clifford draw in for game 3, possible Simmonds gets a rest after the bad penalty tonight at 2-1 and just some load management. One of Simmonds or Clifford will be in the lineup though - Tampa will come out on fire in game 3 at home hitting everyone and everything and the Leafs will need an answer if it gets silly.

Unrelated - Mike Smith is such a diver good god. Lol

A bit off topic - but I checked out the Canucks page and sure enough their obsession with you guys is burning strong (akin to when they burnt down city after the Boston game).

They have such an inferiority complex eh… like the fat girl who doesn’t go to prom and sits at home and says how stupid prom is and how she hates all the cool kids. They didn’t get to this dance and they’re mad about it.

Hasek had horrific technique and style.

Toronto has scored 8 goals in 2 games.

Tampa has scored 5 goals in 2 games.

I’m not nearly as worried about the goaltending matchup as the popular narrative is amongst non-Leaf fans such as yourself and neither are the Leafs and their 60
Goal scorer, or Marner who has 2 goals in 2 games or many others.

Vasi isn’t in their heads and Soupy will be angry he gave up 5 and be better next game.

I think Buds need both Clifford and Simmons’s in lineup but who knows.

Such a diver!! I hate Smith. Maybe one of my most hated tenders ever. Could never stand the goalies that act like tough guys. Even if they can throw and that it’s bush. They don’t get hit game in game out and they don’t really truly face the threat of getting the poop beat out of them. Easy to be a tough guy I’m that situation.

There will never be another Hasek.

Not worried about the Leafs ability to score nor is it about a goalie match up. AM is outright lethal & Vasy is the best PO goalie til he’s beaten.

Don’t let TB get comfy & keep up the speed & pressure & possession.

Hatred of the Leafs - it’s the passion that unites them all.

Was Vasi the best PO goalie the year the Bolts got swept?

He’s human and beatable.

Tampa isn’t winning a 3rd cup in a row.

That’s true mostly but very few Leaf fans if any understand why that is.

What is more true is Canucks fanbase are the most fickle & biggest bandwagon fans around imo.

The scary thing for this matchup for me is that TB and Toronto are essentially at the same talent. I think this will be a long and close series. I do believe the leafs can take it… but in order to do so they need to stay on top of their game.

Which is why I truly liked how they scored the last two goals of the game… they played a bit sloppy but seemed to rediscover themselves around the halfway mark of the third… which is the team I’m willing to bet shows up for game 3 in TB

I hate their stupid roller Hockey dark jerseys. They have some of the nicest jerseys in the league with their old school ones and even the orange ones but this is what they wear?

Yes I’m slightly biased - not because I love the Oilers but I love me some Fuhr all day long!
