I was flipping between the Canes/Bruins and TB/Tor games last night.

Gosh I luv playoff hockey. Everyone finishing checks, some sketchy stuff going on but, overall just fun to watch with no one seeming to take a shift off.

I really like what the Canes have assembled. They may not play a "heavy" game but they sure as hell don't shy away from contact and have enough skilled players to make the other team look silly.

The Raanta injury was borderline. It kinda looked like Pasta was trying to avoid him but if Raanta didn't get hurt then on that play he probably would have hurt himself making his toast in the morning.

I could do without the scrum after every whistle.

I couldn't agree more. There are a lot of penalties being called, but many of them are stupid, self-inflicted wounds. Every time I flipped on the TB-TOR game, Simmonds was taking out someone who didn't have the puck (nor did they recently have it).

Gotta say, Hagel is doing his job well in the playoffs. Just constantly buzzing around and getting under opponents skin. He was a big reason TB had 7 PP's.

Yeah I don’t disagree. Further away we get from the last regime more and more really looks like a dumpster fire from their last cup win to the end. Likely why they are where they are. Kept guys they shouldn’t have and booted guys out early they shouldn’t have.

Yes some of us, myself included, applauded those decisions but again nobody here is a paid nhl hockey ops person.

Man rock bottom hasn’t even hit yet.

The Hawks haven’t hit rock bottom? Well, they had the lowest amount of wins in regulation in the entire league. Can’t get much lower than that.

Reminiscent of the 49 years from 1961 to 2010.
I'm hoping it's not another 49 years.

If it is, we won’t be around. The Hawks will be competitive in two-three years, as they have some solid defensemen coming up, not cup contenders, but competitive. It’s a long way to the top, if you wanna…..

Still a fave from the AC/DC catalog. Hopefully not 49 years. I plan on living forever but might have to file that with my winning the lottery plan.

I like what Davidson’s said so far and hoping they just stick to the plan and recognize when a foundation is in place to build from.

Will see if Reichel comes to camp with a little more meat on his bones. Otherwise it might not be horrible for his development to start the year at the Rock.

At the very least hoping Vlasic, Regula, maybe Mitchell/Galvas…some combo of these guys make it so I’m not watching Gus, Calvin and Caleb next season at the very least.
