Agreed - use it to build the "us against the world" narrative.

Like Canada's women's team in Salt Lake Olympics. Wickenheiser should tell the boys what it feels like to beat the world.

- The Law

Wickenheiser can tell them what it feels like to beat the world of the US team?

If you do 5k on a regular basis, you can already do 10k.

McMillan is good.

So is Hal Higdon.

But my suggestion would be that if you have a smart watch, get a program that works with it. Always run with your GPS on, so you can track your progress. If you don't have one, you can get a Garmin Forerunner or Venu for about $200, and it will do everything you need it to do.

And FFS, do not run while holding your phone in your hand.

I'm happy to answer any other questions you have.

- Atomic Wedgie

Agree with this. Just do it. Add a little more every run.

What’s not clear to me is what had happened before this clip because everyone is standing around - some with gloves off - Simpson is saying that things had pretty much been defused, when Simmonds skates in and goes after Hermann. That’s when things really get going. Rielly’s fight with Maroon starts after this. Simmonds seems to be the guy who ignites it.
- Canada Cup

Okay if Simmonds ignites it then sure, 2.5k fine is okay...but what about Maroon?

If I am Clifford I am grabbing Kucherov and feeding punches into his face, if all you get is a double minor then (frank) it.

That's baloney: Jon Cooper sent out those thugs when the game was over to stir poop.

You could even argue Maroons play is worse because it was not during a play, he had time to think his decision through and 5 punches to stop.

This better not continue, the NHL needs to get it through NHlers heads that you can't punch a defenceless player not wanting to fight because all of a sudden this is a thing.

- Santo_44

It's never been allowed before. And it's the most bizarre thing . . .the goon code basically talks about not fighting guys who aren't fighters or fighting guys who are unwilling to do so - it's why John Scott took so much heat for his BS move with Kessel in the preseason 10 years ago. But now that Parros is charge, who knows? The DoPS has always been a biased laughing stock, but it's never been as bad as it is now under this guy.

If we ever see Hutchinson this playoffs I will cry.

The Leafs just win 5-0 (maybe, maybe it was 6). The last thing they need to be thinking about is retaliation. Play tough, don’t back down and go to Tampa up 2-0.

Loved the officials skating Simmonds out to centre ice to "diffuse" things while watching Moron and Katy Perry skate back to the scrum to get involved.

Laboosh starts it with crosscheck to perry while Simmonds was being skated around and things were diffusing
Simmons comes back in after things were picking up.

First the Terry incident.

Now this? Protect your damn players.

We don't need guys like tubby maroon concussing a Morgan Rielly because he is losing a hockey game.

Maybe it was "pay back" for the Clifford hit. If it was then Maroon gets what Clifford gets. A game, a major and a hearing.

Again, I have to ask. How is it, that all Maroon got was a 10 minute misconduct.

Liljegren is really turning into a solid player. Glad he is in the lineup instead of Holl
im glad Dubas didnt act on all my trade proposals on HB from 2019-2021

- senstroll

Man, I've felt so vindicated this entire year watching Liljegren just continue to excel.

Yes, "us against the world" ...it's a metaphor. Check it out ...

Also, even without the metaphor ....winning Olympic Gold is better than winning the "World Championships" so it is akin to beating the world.

The interesting thing about this is that you get the talking heads who talk up the suspensions and normalize the reactions for Toronto fans - "likely suspension", "that's a suspendable hit", "that's something the DoPS will have to look at," and so on. This includes the "homer" Toronto media who get on this train.

But none of these same people were standing up yelling, "Where's the (frank)ing justice?" when Kerfoot was hit from behind. When Sergachev suckered Bunting. When Lyubushkin was sucker punched.

There is no "homer" Toronto media other than Joe Bowen. There's just guys who work here.

There was 10 minutes left in the game. Is he going to sit them the rest of the game? Of course they’re going to stir poop. They were looking for trouble. But that clip shows things got going when Simmonds came in and paired up with Hedman. Maybe it would have started anyway. But facts are facts.

It says all you need to know that Maroon's total penalties for that brawl were a 10 minute misconduct. Not even a 2 minute penalty for 5 or 6 bare fisted shots at Rielly's head after the initial sucker punch.

Did Simmonds sucker punch Hedman and pull his sweater over his head and punch a defenseless player half a dozen times and receive only a 10 minute misconduct? I must have missed that.

Clifford>Simmonds

Both give you the same offence.

Simmonds is by far the better fighter, may be one of the best in the NHL.

But one thing Clifford does well and much better than Simmonds is time hits well. He rarely misses a hit and just has a bit of a wrecking ball body where Simmer is a lanky dude.

We can use it ...

That should give Keefe some ammo to motivate the room before game 2.

I remembering the first 10 mins of every game against the Habs last year ...uggh. They came out swinging with a tonne of energy ...each and every one of them ...great to see.

When did I put his actions on a par with Maroon? I haven’t said anything about whether Maroon deserved more. I simply found it interesting how things seemed to escalate from a clip I hadn’t seen. Jesus
