The hate for the Leafs on the Nuck thread is strong.
- winsix

The fear for any Leafs success is real

Not sure why. Leafs need to stay the course. Keefe finally figured out line matching.

Wouldn't be a stretch at all. Marner, Kerfoot and Matthews were outstanding. I'll put a red star on that PP goal by Matthews.
- winsix

That’s why you need to watch the games.

Kerfoot had the worst possession #’s at 5v5 but was better then most Leafs for the game. ( not talking about you )

Agree completely - however a coaching strategy to have Perry and Maroon take out the Leafs top d-man is rewarded by the goon running player safety not punished.
- winsix

Simmonds needs to drop the gloves there and we wouldn’t have had Boosh getting a left to the face and Rielly fighting and getting pounded.

We tend to remember visually-compelling moments when watching games that shape our opinion of the player for the full 60.

The stats help iron out the rest of the performance.

What the stats miss are the moments that define the game or trigger other events, "intangibles" as it were.

Yes, him skating away and grinning didn't help defuse the situation. A riled up TBL team isn't really what we need to close out this series.

Yup, as Im sure most of Tampa's stars will be.
They'll come back strong for sure, the leafs will have to weather it for the first 10 mins and not allow a goal.

Is it a rookie move? He now has the media talking about what he said instead of bugging his players. It was the right thing to do.
- Aaron_85

Nah rookie move by cooper

Stammer knows what he is saying

Rielly got sucker punched by Maroon, who pulled Rielly's sweater over his head to land five or six punches. Low class move by a low class player. Rielly then went after 6'3" Rutta who was being brave by beating up 5'9" Blackwood. It didn't end well for Rutta.

He’s there just for that and Rielly ends up with bloody hands and taking shots to the head. Boosh took a head shot from Perry. I know Simmonds didn’t want to give them anything to turn the momentum but….almost want to dress Cliff and a sit Simmer.

Kerfoot barely played 5v5 because Leafs were shorthanded most of the game.

With all the penalties jt, nylander, and Matthews didn’t seem like they had a ton of ice time. Should see more out of them in game 2.

Also muzzin and Brodie led the team in ice time. Liljegren was 3rd.

Who would have picked Engvall and Kampf to have the most ice time for forwards for the whole game??

What a beauty game, my youngest boy learned how to swear and he happy at the same time last night!!!

Him doing that was perfect.
They were up 4-0, why fight in that moment.
But during the scrum, Simmonds was in there.

The leafs played their best game of the season.
They came out ramped up and ready to go.
Its what they needed to do and it was fun as well as great to see.
Keep it going.
But they need to do it 3 more times in the next 6 games. Can they do it in possible elimination games 5, 6, or 7?

Im hoping so.

I don’t mind it from a leaf perspective.

Could fire the leafs up even more. Win 5-0 and the opposing team saying they didn’t do anything special.
