Lee, Kozari, Skilliter, and Sutherland are mostly looked at as 4 of the worst refs in the business. How the (frank) are they allowed in the playoffs?
All I can say is that the NHL better keep Skilliter as far away from the Leafs as (frank)ing possible. Every game he does for the Leafs turns into an absolute poop-show.

Makes sense to me as well. Not having Bunting hurts though. Hoping the Leafs can stay out of the box, dirty POS Perry will be will be running into Campbell every opportunity. - winsix
Is Bunting for sure a no go game 1? I thought I saw on the TV that he was skating in a ready to go sweater at practice.

It really shows the lack of depth in the ref ranks.. that some of these cats get post season assignments.

I just wonder how long he can actually last on the 2nd pair... Point can absolutely Jet...And having Bolts on the PP isn't a great strategy... at least it wasn't a week ago..

Muzzin has been better since he got back from his most recent injury. But if they can't handle it, can very easily shift them to 3rd pairing. Gio and Liljegren have been fantastic together and Liljegren's got sneaky wheels.
But yeah, we need the refs to just (frank) off entirely this series. I'd accept 5 on 5 the entire time.

Tell you something else.. I can see a - let them play- attitude permeate a bunch of these series.. the let them work it out amongst themselves thinking.. so watch for a ton of early stick, hack, crap on AM34 tomorrow.

Guaranteed gonna happen. It happens every game already.
Also, you know for a fact that Perry is gonna "accidentally" fall on the goalie 7 times a game.

According to Sportsnet he is doubtful for game 1
Injured top-line left wing Michael Bunting (undisclosed) only participated for about 25 minutes before leaving the ice Sunday. He is doubtful for Game 1 but is expected to appear later in the series.
Looks solid to me. Obvious, Bunting IN is a much better 4 line roll. Will be very interested to see the depth at full order if Kase can stay healthy.
The D look good to me also. My opinion - the best pairings to start off with and hope for you guys everyone stays healthy there. Full health (as much as to be expected this time of year) this is the best set up and the best units I’ve seen Leafs have for a long while.
It’s really encouraging too for you guys thy you still have very serviceable dmen in Holl/Sandin (when healthy) to rotate on if someone gets dinged up too much or can’t pull it together and starts slow. Playoffs is the time of year where you can’t let a player have a few bad games to work things out. So to have the ability to sub in Holl or Sandin and hope they have their stuff together is good bonus on depth.

I'm wondering is Keefe is thinking of actually taking more penalties. I know that sounds dumb, but teams that get a lot of power play opportunities generally take a lot too, so lots of game management calls that end up being timely or at least something you can count on every period.
So like get Cliffy out there when it's tied or lopsided, it may steer in our favour as the series goes on.
I mean, the whole thing is (frank)ing stupid: just call the rules night in night out, regular season or playoffs, and let them learn and adapt. - gravyface
You do NOT want to give this Tampa powerplay more opportunities.

Correction, Tampa does not want to give the Leafs power play opportunities. Speaking factually, the Leafs had the top power play in the NHL, Tampa was 8th. If we wish to go a step further, Toronto's PK was superior to Tampa's as well. Toronto was 8th, Tampa was 11th.
For good measure, Leafs led the NHL in short-handed goals, Tampa was 14th.
I think a significant factor in the Leafs/Bolts match up is that the Lightning have played a lot of hockey over the past two years running very late into the summer of last year.
My prediction is that the Leafs will outgun the Lighting in a fast paced series and the Lightning will struggle to keep up and will be knocked out rather easily. And, quickly! This is the way mini dynasties end!
