Setting the bar now - anyone who directly insults another poster, calls them a name etc. will get a ban. Someone just got a ban for a day moments ago for this so keep it above the belt and feel free to disagree with an opinion and state such but name calling is not going to be tolerated, it digresses to much more problematic situations far too quickly.

Right so anyone who had a differing view than yours has the BS view but yours is not to be questioned nor challenged because it's not anything other than what you say it is?
No, that's not how it works, sorry.
You can proclaim your view is a being a realist all you like, it's your opinion and no more 'real' than anyone else's and is subject to being challenged and even called out as being incorrect in the opinion of others.
Saying you have no expectations is interesting, it should be safe to assume then you won't be disappointed if they lose and wont' be on here complaining about how flawed they are etc. right?
Saying your opinion is realism while others is not is the BS here and for the record read what you wrote, the things you are so convinced are not pessimistic are in fact exactly that & they are your opinion whish is fine but don't pretend they aren't. - Cush29
Uh?
WTF are you talking about?
I never said having an optimistic view is BS.
I said
"Having no expectations is not a pessimistic view.
Anyone concerned about the leafs choking history is not a pessimistic view.
Anyone apprehensive about this team until they actually win a round is not pessimistic view.
Its BS to suggest it is."
Saying someone is pessimistic cause they may have no expectations, or have concerns or some apprehension is bs.
I dont care what you or anyone believes....you were the one labelling people.
I have no expectations, and enjoy the games just the same.
I wont be surprised if they win (relieved for sure) and I wont be surprised if they lose.
Heck if they win, Im jumping on zezels blue banana boat!
So the question is, does Ek know that he has the cosmic power to predict the winner by proclaiming the opposite?
And if he tried to predict the Lightning would win because he predicts the Leafs would win, does that mean that the Lightning would win because he wanted to predict a leafs win, or does that mean that his prediction based on his original prediction will revert the prediction back to the original one?

Your post essentially says nothing you have said is pessimistic and it's BS to suggest that they were is BS and your the realist and not the optimism so it's fairly easy to connect it all but whatever.
You can continue to claim not care what others believes, the fact you jump on here to tell others they are wrong, overly optimistic and that you are right because you are the realist says different.

Ek predicted Leafs in 5, so I guess that means Tampa is winning in 3? Leafs forfeit after losing the first 3 games by a combined score of 37-1

We’re one of the top teams and the playoffs start tonight, what’s not to love? Only in leafland could a fanbase find something to complain about today.

That's pessimism, man. How dare you! - mjones242
Nah. I do think the Leafs can win this series. A lot has to go their way, but it's possible. It's more about removing hope and emotion. As soon as you put too much of that on the line, this team rips your (frank)ing guts out. That's why I'm trying it this way - let's just watch the game, and see what happens. Most importantly to the the Leafers, just:

Agreed.
Any criticism or skepticism is necessarily equated to pessimism in this forum by some peeps. "How dare you suggest this team will not win! You must not enjoy the sport or the Leafs at all!"

I think this team can win this series but if they lose, as long as they were giving it their all, I think I'll be satisfied.
Beating the 2x Champs is no small feat.
I'm just trying to go into each game with a clean palate. Like trying to forget the bad shot you just made in golf - move on and focus at the task in front of you. And hopefully enjoy the ride.
I like Zezel's approach. IMO objectivity has no place in sports fandom - TheMussel
I've been right behind Zezel all season. I feel its way more fun to be optimistic with a real good team than the opposite or in a weird middle ground hedging your bets on both extremes.

My post said nothing about being a realist or that any optimism was BS. That's not what I said, that's your interpretation.
I didnt say anyone was wrong about the leafs outcome.
I didnt I say I was right cause I was a "realist"
