There’s no reason we can’t address 2/3 or 3/3 needs this offseason |

Florida plays a very entertaining style of hockey that I have a difficult time rooting against.
Being a good team and entertaining is a dream. - kingcong39
Florida and Colorado would be the best cup final in years.
I can see Florida getting upset though because in the playoffs your goalie needs to be your best player and I can definitely see the Bob/Knight tandem falling on their face |

why is bridgeport in over rochester? - homiedclown
It's points percentage per division, and Bridgeport is in a different division. |

is joker a top 4 d man
or bottom pair
who is that top 6 player needed
who is the starting goalie and backup
I think it's that simple for the most part
1 RD
1 top 6 player
1 starting goalie
find the right 3 players and then make a tweak or 2 if needed for bottom 6 and perhaps the final LD spot assuming samuelsson, dahlin and power are 3 of your top 4
2 year window to load up on "rentals" before they have to start paying
assuming the owners are willing to spend a little bit for the 2022-23 season |

Best case scenario tonight:
Sabres/ Vegas lose
Red wings/ Sens/Canucks win
Sabres draft 7th and 15th pre lotto.
Florida getting knocked out round 1 because Bobrovsky can’t stop a beach ball would be nice as well (sorry Ratsreign) - Pegullaville
Bob’s been good this year. He lets in some bad ones, but he has more frequently bailed them out and held them in games until their offense got rolling. They have to commit to playing better in front of him. They can still score 3 or 4 when paying attention to the defensive details.
There isn’t an easy matchup to be had in the East playoffs this season.

It's a bizarre system. Bottom 2 from each division miss the playoffs, then there's a weird best of 3 play-in type round round.

It looks like they only wanted to eliminate 2 teams from each division for the playoffs.
My best guess why is more teams being able to get gate revenue for playoff games. |

The answer is money: Playoff gate revenue.
The NBA has already made a similar move with their play-in system. |

the 3 seed in north and central get byes
the 3 seed in atlantic and the 2 seed and 3 seed in pacific do not get byes
literally makes zero sense
6 teams in this division get in
5 teams from these divisions get in
7 teams from this division gets in
ph and each division has 8 teams |

5 teams from a division of 7, 6 teams from a division of 8, and 7 teams from a division of 9.
From there, it's how you get to 4 teams for the 2nd round.
With 5 teams, it means 3 teams get a bye.
With 6 teams, it's 2 teams that get a bye.
With 7 teams, it's only one team that gets a bye.
It's simple math. |

I wish the NHL would adopt what the NBA is doing with having the top 6 teams make the playoffs and 7 - 10 needing to qualify via a play-in.
The change I'd make is the play-in would be 2 game series with the higher seed getting both home games, and only needing to win once to advance, while the lower seed would need to win twice to advance. |

The only reason for this would be for money. Team 10 wins game 1 but loses game 2 they are eliminated? How does that make any sense
