Checked in at ProFootballTalk. Per Florio via Cimini, Deebo to the Jets isn't dead yet. Florio concludes if its going to happen, it's not going to be until the Jets pick is on the clock so niners know there pick doesn't get swooped up in front of them. I really like reading Florio's articles. Attorney. Great thinker.

Also, there is a really good piece on Gabe Davis up. Link to a video of him on the phone with McKenzie when the OT rules came out. McKenzie asks Gabe what he thinks of the OT changes. Gabe says he would've had 5 td's! Gabe is my favorite player on the team not named Allen. Video shows him training non stop. He is a beast. I can't wait to see what he has in store this season.

That's the entire point. You need a great QB.

But I'm not going to re-litigate that whole thing today

- Wetbandit1

It's not worth arguing, bandit. There are a lot of fans on here that think Breece Hall at 25 is what's going to get the Bills past the Chiefs, and all the top receivers in the AFC.

He's got 17 kids?

Or do I have the wrong Cromartie?

- Wetbandit1

Lol! Yup, that's him.

Imagine Breece Hall and Gabe Davis going to dinner together...after losing 38-35 or 42-33, because the secondary couldn't stop Hill/Kelce/Chase/Higgins/Kupp.

In other news, Nate Geary is a stupid, stupid man. His latest mock has the Bills trading 25, a 3rd and a 7th to Houston for #13, to take Kyle Hamilton. Yeah. Because SAFETY is a glaring need on this team.

The New York Giants have elected to decline the fifth-year option on quarterback Daniel Jones' rookie contract
- homiedclown

No surprise it would be dumb to pick it up. If he plays good, tag him.

Secondary is a need. If they make that move you know they are moving on from Poyer next year. It also tells you that they value the position a lot.

Secondary is a need. This guy is supposed to be very good at coverage and an elite playmaker. I am sure Frazier would be chomping at the bit to get a guy like him. They would find room for him.

Edit: I've seen people say it can take a couple months, but at least they got one.

So, what do you do in this situation? Trade Poyer for a 2nd or 3rd, and start Hamilton at safety next to Hyde?

Or, do you keep Poyer, and then try to play Hamilton as a linebacker?

The shelf life on poyer and hyde is expiring soon unfortunately.

Our defense needs play makers at safety , just like the best pair in Bill's history.

I could see a tweener, guy that comes in for nickel packages as a rookie or start in case of hold out/ injury

Or you just let Poyer play out his contract and Hamilton is used in Nickle and Dime packages. Bill's are in that 80% of the time anyways. Called thinking ahead.

For the Giants they need a CORONER.

This is going to be another tough year for me. But we're Bills East now.....

They would keep Poyer as we are trying to win this year.
The more I think about this the more it makes sense as something that could happen. Think about it:

- No smoke about this happening
- The guy is an athletic freak
- Allows us to prepare for Poyer's departure while giving us backup (starter?) at safety and corner this year

If we were to move up for the top safety in the draft I’m good with that. Poyer and Hyde are both 30+ and not getting any faster. We’re going to be replacing both of them in the next few years, need their replacements here learning the system.
