Unless the team completely Sh!t's the bed. There's plenty of other things to do in Vegas to. - Buff36
There are very few cities where attendance doesn't poop the bed when the team is poor: Toronto, Montreal, and New York. That's probably it. Prior to Crosby, Pittsburgh's attendance was atrocious. Washington had trouble before Ovechkin lifted them at or near the top of the league. Even Buffalo, whose fans loved to beat their chests back in 2006-2007 about how they are the greatest hockey market in the United States, barely eclipsed 50% in home attendance this year. The difference between Vegas and those other cities, is that people will use their team playing in that city as an excuse to go there. That alone will always keep attendance up. None of those other cities really have that draw. |

The only non Sabre Jersey I've ever purchased is a red Alexander Ovechkin Jersey, which he autographed for me, and is now hanging on my nephew's wall.
I will say this. EVK wore the Sabre jersey with pride on the ice. I thank him for that. - lacaprup
He represented the team well, when he got kicked out of a bar on the first night of the 2016 Draft. |

I agree for North Eastern teams. If the Sabres are playing in Vegas in November - February next year there a good chance the wife and I will go. Probably true for many Sabres fans next season. True also for Toronto, Montreal, both NYC teams, Boston. Doubtful for Philly given how bad they are. I doubt any of the Southeastern teams would travel well to Vegas, nor the other Western teams.

The Panthers have a similar problem as the Coyotes, though not as extreme, in that they picked one of the worst places in the area to build an arena. That being said, Florida's attendance is much better now that they're more than decent. Vegas' arena is right in the heart of everything.

Really good hockey players have a curious way of not playing their best on a team with Jack. We'll see. It doesn't help matters for them Alex Pieterangelo isn't the same player anymore. - lacaprup
The big difference is that Jack isn't the captain. I don't think Jack has a hex on Stone. I get where you are coming from but that team still has waaaaay too much talent to fall over year after year.

I'm not really sure why, but my mind is starting to really associate Jack and Alexei Kovalev. |

Sure out of towners help, it might save them for a bit if they do sh!t the bed. But they aren't getting 10,000 visiting fans for every game. |

TB is going to wipe the floor with Toronto. Who is playing net for the Canes? That could be a 7 gamer. Blues / Minnesota is an absolute slugfest. Great series. I'll take Minnesota. - lacaprup
“TB is going to wipe the floor with Toronto.“ yeah, like you wouldn’t have fun watching that
TB definitely will bring the big boy part of their game with ultra maroon, Perry, Killorn and the Dmen. Leafs gonna have to overcome that |

First round is going to be some fun matchups. TB/Leafs and Bs/Canes are pretty much guaranteed to happen in the East. Blues/Minny should be good - Ratsreign

Florida has a boom or bust feeling to them. Either they're going to the Finals, or they're losing in the first round.

My point is, if cities like Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Washington can survive crappy attendance figures when the team sucks, Vegas can also. The market is fine.

Two questions.
1. What did we ever win with Reinhart on the roster?
2. How many more wins this season would the Sabres have had with Reinhart? |

I picked them as my "dark horse" (not so dark I know) back at the start if the season.
If the Bolts don't win it, they are the team I have the most interest in watching.
Especially rooting hard for Sam to play well and produce often. |

Reinhart's a curious case because of the "change of scenery" concept. He was miserable here, and he needed one. However, if the Sabres could have somehow mended fences with him, I do think they would have been able to weather the storm in December-April a little bit better because he at center makes them a whole lot deeper up the middle. However, that assumes Granato still moves Thompson to center if Reinhart is still here. |

Sam was far from the problem on the team. KA jerked him around and possed him off.
I was ok with Botts Brdge deal for Sam as that season was a Tale of Two Cities. He did jack poop until mid January, then got a kick on the ass from his agent and played his balls off for 1/2 of the season. |

I think part of the reason that this team has been is because we have a lot of really good skaters and most nights we are the better-skating team. If Reinhart is 1C we don't have that. More importantly, we might still be questioning Tage's ceiling if he was 2C this year.
