Platinum Blonde - Load Management
lol my first concert. Platinum Blonde opens for Bryan Adams very early 80's can't remember the year. Just remember the lead singer was wearing some cheetah outfit looked like a chick.
Ya saw that excellent lineup I wonder how the vocals have held up?
Doug and the Slugs was a great live band and you'd never guess it. Saw Nazareth ,April Wine, Prism, Streetheart all at the old biker run Windsor hotel in RD back in the day. All excellent but had original lineups. Streetheart won't be the same without Kenny Shields and no Brian McLeod with Headpins. Never saw Lee Aaron, Gilder, Toronto or Honeymoon Suite live however so might have a look. Loved Honeymoon Suite way better than they ever got credit for 3-4 very solid albums.
I took a big pass on the Motley Crue, Def Lep, Poison, Joan Jett cash grab concert. All the vocals except Joan Jett are atrocious. Save your money lol but this big bill looks to be solid. - LordHumungous
My brother won tickets a few years back and Toronto , Headpins and one more group was playing , maybe Honeymoon Suite and the concert was actually quite boring. A 60 year old Honey Moon looks nothing like the 20 year old version even though the outfits were the same.
There might have been moments but overall , the voices have changed , the looks definitely change and it is time to let go of the past. 70s music has come and gone and it is time to embrace the Biebs
The crowd was more entertaining than the concert. People in their 60s with beer bellies and straw hair falling out trying to fit into their spandex and puffy shirts might have been worth the admission.

Was listening to them as I typed that out - NewYorkNuck
Led Zep could very well go down as the greatest pure rock band in history. One could make the argument if one was so inclined lol. Paul Stanley from KISS was recently asked to name his top ten rock vocalists of all time and he basically said If you don't have Robert Plant at #1 on that list you have no business listening to music.

It's all hit/miss now based of who is actually in the bands and how the vocals play out. Some bands can pull it off but most can't in the golden years. Saw Maiden in 2019 and D!ckenson sounded great still has amazing range but nothing like the 80's Powerslave era stuff. I was fortunate to have caught Streetheart and Kenny Shields live before he passed. Still hit all the notes was incredible. But then go watch live videos of Motley Crue and Def Lep now and they sound like total crap live. Alot of it is processed too. Saw Def Lep twice in the 80's and they were awful then...just can't reproduce all those studio harmonies live. Very tough. I think the folks who are going know for the most part what they are in for live. It's mostly a memory thing and to reminisce anyways...but also a treat to have a great perfromance. I certainly wouldn't expect Darby Mills to sound like she did in the 80's lol or Lee Aaron. But I certainly had the posters on the wall...

This is what Darby and her fans look like now
She was at the concert . She can hit the notes still but it is not the same as a 20 year old Darby Mills.
At this point, even if they won’t admit it, I think the Canucks are just playing for pride. Vegas will be desperate, if they’re going to catch Dallas they need to win most of their remaining games.
