Boondock saint, 150-0 in internet brawls. Keep on fighting the good fight champ - neem55
Canadian actor David Ferry from Boondock Saints is the father of a friend of mine going back to when I was 13. She now has her name on the Best Movie Oscar for The Revenant as a Lead Grip or something like that. He was a great guy back when we were kids. Her mother has been in movies as well. She was a common First Nations actress back in the 80's and 90's.
Hope this childhood story doesn't hurt you.

“The Canucks will now have to go at least 26-1-1 over their final 12 games to make the playoffs.
I say they do it.”

There's a 33 and 12 10ths chance they can win 26. You gotta believe!

How many games do they need to lose to have a chance at the #1 pick? |

You have to be at least 22nd or worse. |

I would be fine if they moved up in the draft to be able to get Jiricek or Nemec. Which means probably in the 3-6 range for both those guys.
Excellent defensemen.
Edit; just found this link that has one at 4 and the other at 6

Some other sites have both in the top 10.. both are top 5 picks IMO. |

Probably a full season of this team under Boudreau. |

I am still undecided on Boudreau, although he has been a breath of fresh air, I see some issues around his player usage. |

He was an incredibly refreshing change from Green but, as I mentioned the other day, his playoff record is not encouraging. Not a problem this season and probably next but an issue nonetheless. |

Elliot Friedman said something the other day about this. Basically that it’s so hard to make the playoffs, if you have a good regular season coach at least you have a chance. If your “playoff coach” doesn’t get you in then… you miss 300% of the shots when Boeser’s on the ice. |

Agreed.
Plus he is much easier to listen to compared to the meathead that was here, actually, all the management team are easier to listen compared to the previous regime.
Not sure being easier to listen to will translate into a better product, time will tell. |

I really like the narrative change with Boudreau over Green as well. I couldn't stand listening to Green, so I don't know how the players could tolerate it. As far as playoff record...just get us there at some point...PLEASE! |

The last regime was an epic embarrassment. Idiots, all of them but you're right, being a better communicator doesn't necessarily mean overall team success.
The floods, I still can't believe Benning used that as an excuse. |

That was mind-boggling, but funny, at the same time.
Let's see what this new regime can do. I am hoping for some major changes, hopefully in the right direction.
This off-season could be interesting, but, as someone had mentioned a couple days ago, a lot of teams are capped out and trades may be difficult.
Hoping some of these teams like Ottawa, Detroit, Anaheim and Buffalo are trying to take the next step and are willing to take on a proven nhl quality player like Brock, Garland, Miller, Pouty, Hughes, Myers, OEL |

The talk of whom to choose between a top pairing defensemen or a top line forward. The nod usually goes to the forward because there is much less risk. Forwards generally show up much quicker as well.
I don't quite understand how people have Savoie behind Geekie.
Robinson has Nemec at #2. |

I went to school with pussies even though I lived in a different poop neighborhood. They were mostly rich kids from The Beaches. No one would meet me at a bike rack. It was sad when I brought the few friends to my neighborhood that were daring enough. It was custom to beat kids up that were not recognized. Things didn't go well for them.
One time in grade 7, kids at my junior high decided to jump on a streetcar and go to the closest McDonalds which was a couple of blocks from where I lived at Queen and Pape. I warned them but they brushed it off. Before they even got their food the McDonalds was raided by the Kids from Cannaught and they got poop kicked... last time that idea was brought up. I knew many of them from Mosquito Park... they bugged me about the kids I knew in the summer... it was embarrassing. A couple of years later I brought the street kids I knew from down town to the Park. It was ours for the next couple of years. After dominance was established, we were one in the end. We had enough problems with the kids from Regent Park and Don Mills Court showing up for trouble...

Yet, every off season, including the recent cash-strapped ones, big trades are executed. Teams most always find a way. There are GM's out there that are easy to bend over just like Benning was year after year, giving away high draft picks to teams pushed right up against the cap. Helping them clear cap space to win cups. |
