Subban ejected from the game for jumping Wahlstrom after he leveled Jack Hughes with a clean hit. Puck just left Hughes' stick like .3 seconds earlier and a clean body on body hit follows. Subban crossed the ice to chase Walstrom down and jumps him. Wahstrom gets 5 minutes for fighting. He was dropped with a sucker punch.
Please dont compare this to the Beagle situation. Wahstrom didnt rush Subban. |

Should have hit a guy unless he was willing to fight. He had to know it was coming. He got what he deserved. |

well done. - boonerbuck
I haven’t seen the Beagle thingy. It was in my Twitter feed but trying to figure out what’s going on from my phone is impossible.
Was the puck loose? Had the whistle gone yet?
I didn’t see any hot dogging so I’m not sure what all the hoopla is about.
But in regards to looking bad, I agree. If you don’t want to look bad then don’t suck at hockey. Get as mad as you like, but you still suck at hockey. Most coaches for instance wouldn’t put their #1 PP unit out late in a game up by a bunch. But if it was an unnecessary penalty in a blow out game then I’m sending out my guys to make you look even more foolish. |

Goalie pulled the puck under himself and laid on it(under his back I think). Zegras was standing dead center in the crease and jabs his stick into the goalie trying to free it up. Beagle cross checks him. Fowler comes in and grabs Beagle for a tussle and Terry come rushing in as a 3rd just as Beagle pushed Fowler away and intercepts Terry and starts giving it to him. It happened pretty fast. On HD in .25% speed I've watched it a number of times now.

Your last paragraph: A smart decision in a blow out late PP is to put a unit out of non PP guys who can translate it as a reward and keep the game civil at the same time. AV was like that. But if the penalty was for trying to hurt one of your players... well the opposition doesn't deserve the respect of that at all. Game is already nasty so crossing that line isn't a issue. |

I still can’t really tell, it’s a big ol mess. I think the initial cross check was pretty standard. Refs probably call that a penalty early in the season. After that it’s mayhem. |

I have a vague memory of someone getting cleaned out and Bo getting a bit dirty. Myers and schenn also seem to have a bit of spine. But yeah, not a team that can win a dirty playoff series |

Nights off? Well at most I think they would do is give him the extra(because it was excessive in hind sight) but even that is iffy. Reviewing it, Beagle and Fowler were the first 2 engaged after the crosscheck and could be looked at as mutual even though Fowler engaged. Terry is 3rd man in throws a punch and gets beaten up. How does Beagle get a suspension for that?
Cross check was standard in the NHL... also just a penalty unless it was high... and it wasn't.

Agreed...standard reaction to a man in the crease digging at the goalie. Like I said it was so quick. That's why I question why people treat a reaction in a scum like it was premeditated murder or something. I had to run the vid at .25% speed to follow what happened.

Bit of a mess, i didnt think Terry threw a punch. I guess hes 3rdan in which is a good point, i think Bieksa was pretty on point with his assessment. Beagle went way far. |

As much as I find KB fun to listen to , he is very bias when it comes to Canucks and the Ducks.

Yes, agreed too far but that's hind sight in most cases. Chaos in a scrum... multiple people coming at you. High emotions and adrenaline... you pay the price for that reaction after but in the moment, you are not rational.
Been there many times. I've even dropped friendlies in brawls. The drummer from Pennywise got it right on the button from me in a fight at the Hungry Elephant. I was out partying with Team Jak and he was in town. Big scrum on the floor... I turn and see him entering the brawl.. not a familiar face but one of us none the less. POW...out....
