I agree with both of you, however, if you wanna enter a scrum then before you get there you’d better be of the mentality that you may need to fight…so be ready or stay the fuck out of it.
- LeftCoaster

I fully understand this. But I mean, how many of these scrums happen in a game that result in nothing? It's a pretty poor read in that Beagle was quite obviously hot during this one. Kid ate a few and learned a lesson. But there's no way in hell he saw it coming.

People complain about the all star game because it’s just a hotdog contest and then complain when guys show emotion during a regular season game. You can’t have it both ways.

The bolded is such a stupid comment. It’s obviously from someone who doesn’t understand the game as it stands. Physicality and intimidation is and always has been a part of sport. There’s always been role players because there isn’t enough stars to ice a full team of them.

If you wanna hotdog it out there like it’s pond hockey, when the score is lopsided, then be prepared for guys to react. Plain and simple.

Of course, 99.9% of the time nothing comes of it these days, but the point still stands for me. You wanna (frank) with the bull, be prepared to get the horns.

There’s only 5000 seats and 500 of those are box seats

Oh, that many? Maybe half-full then.

You know that change in hockey culture that's always talked about. It's clearly going to take a little longer if some still think the same way you do.

Nobody goes to the rink to watch Jay Beagle punch out a guy because his teammate scores a highlight reel goal.

Could use some of that on this team. Minny was poking at Demko’s pads/glove multiple times during that game last week
- Nucker101

Ya, some toughness should be a major priority.

Lol. Those top line 30 goal guys just aren't used to it. Guaranteed Beagle has to answer the bell next time they play.

The bolded sums it up pretty much.
- manvanfan

Lol.
If you don't want to get beat up, don't get involved in scrums, and definitely don't touch the goalie.

👏👏👏

It's not very often you say something intelligent, but you nailed it on this one.

It has nothing to do with scoring a goal and everything to do with hacking at the goalie with very little time left on the clock, in a lopsided game.
Classless move by Zegras.

It wasn't exactly a square off and drop the gloves fair fight. Beagle ambushed him.
- Load Management

I don't know which game you were watching but Beagle did not ambush Terry.

Zegras was standing in the paint and jammed his stick into the goalie trying to free the puck. Anyone who does that gets lumber in the NHL. Beagle was then attacked ... which is a pretty standard reaction as well. Terry initiated the exchange... Beagle looks bad for pounding a little guy like him but your story is pure fiction.

Wow.
Coming from a goalie, this is mind-numbing.
Beagle cross-checks a player who pokes at a puck that is covered by his goalie, in a 5-0 game, with very little time remaining, then gets Fowler coming after him and Try Terry charges at him, swinging, albeit with his gloves on. Beagle drops his gloves and destroys him for his attack on him.
Yet Beagle ambushed him. Lol

- Reubenkincade

That's pretty much how I saw after watching the scene multiple times and discussing it with rational people.

You do know that when a player is being attacked by 2 players and pushed by 1 of those players, albeit with his gloves on, that that is a request to fight, I don't care what sport, country or planet you live on.
Watching the video several times and it does appear that Terry has his gloves off and is even trying to throw punches, but Beagle is destroying him, so he can't get any punches off.

Yet Beagle, a plug who no one comes to the rink to see play beats up a star player and it's fine because you shouldn't mess with the bull.

The reason I think both Bo and Miller will still be here next year is mainly cap. Not only Canucks but a lot of teams will feel the crunch. I don't think a lot of teams are giving up a lot of prospects that are cost controlled for the next few years . They may give up a first and third like the Toffoli deal but not giving up players that are producing.

I think if they were the deal would have been done already. Next you have to replace Bo or Miller and they are on very good deals cap wise next year. The cap wont see significant increase for two more years , when the players have paid back the debt ,according to Pierre Lebrun.

I don't think there will be a lot of big names moved next year on the Canucks and will be pretty much like this year.

- VANTEL

They may very well keep Miller but then what, trade him for a much smaller return or let him walk if they are a bubble team at the deadline again? Who knows I guess. We can only guess what management will do at this point. Not much to base a prediction on.
