I see, this isn't the political thread so I won't say much, but the trucker convoy would be a good example of group think? - Reubenkincade
This is true, it isn't the political thread, no need to reference the trucker convoy. But booner is right about group think, it is very prevalent in most hockey discussion here. You could use Myers as an example, or Bo being soft and a beta, lots of hockey related examples to use. |

Where do we disagree, the no thanks part, or trading Miller?
It isn't the only thing we disagree on though, as I would fire both Hughes and Pouty out of here on the fastest plane out of Vancouver.
I agree with your edit, I just threw those 2 names out in case some are wondering how you replace Miller, if they trade him. - Reubenkincade
If Miller traded it isnโt filled by a UFA. Idk why that makes any sense. Dumping cap & how much we can decides how much of a retool can happen. |

Sorry about that, I will try my best to not f uck up like that again.
Would another example of group think be how people talk about Hughes like he is actually a good defenseman?๐ |

Only 7 points back of Vegas for that final spot all they have to do is win the 3 games against Vegas and they should be able to squeak in.
Go Canucks Go. - Reubenkincade
I think the push for the playoffs are done, to much of a hole dug at the beginning of the year. I have a feeling there will be a few player changes coming to start next season. |

Ppl talk of Hughes for what he is. A necessary piece that QBโs the PP & the rare skill of skating out of trouble. |

Do you think Strome will be getting what Miller fetches? I could see him getting about what Miller is currently making, not what Miller will be getting(8-9 million). |

Not a fan of Strome. If he was smart resigns in NY where his game took off. Not even close to the class of Miller. |

Ya, that was a bad start as usual, under Green.
Hope you're right on player changes, unfortunately for me, the 2 players I want gone , won't be moved, at least not until next off-season. |

I watched Hughes during the WJC in Victoria, the guy put on so many extra miles but was such a treat to watch live. I still think he will be a Norris nominee and could also win it. Now that is not an example of group think because I haven't read anyone else make this prediction.
But to each their own. |

So you keep Miller and trade him at TDL, re-sign him, or let him walk?
If they trade him, they will also need another centre that can handle minutes of the top 2 lines, I doubt very much the organization has anyone even currently close to handling that responsibility. |

You are entitled to your opinion, just like Hughes is entitled and your opinion is wrong.๐ |

I think Miller will be traded for max value this summer. The money he'll be asking for will be deserved in the short term but not long term and the assets will be needed. I think they keep Bo who will come in at a much more affordable price. They are stuck With Myers and OEL. The miller trade should provide a quality player and prospect along with a 1st round pick. I imagine a UFA will be added as well.

Usually when I am unsure of something, I ask for clarification.
I have to ask Nighthawk regularly, what he means?

Pretty sure Bo being beta/soft is a pretty contested opinion in here, far from groupthink
Myers, I think started strong, OEL looked decent early on too. Both have faded over the past couple of months in my opinion. Hughes-Schenn have also faded over the past 4-6 weeks.

I did too, i think he has that special level of skill which was evident then. Obviously Makar is there too, i think those two are going to be an interesting career long battle but i see them both winning. |

I hope so honestly. I think they will also be trying to shed cap through anyone over 25, looking forward to this offseason more than any i can think of in recent memory. |

I resign Miller. There is no easy way to replace him. Top Cโs are in demand & too pricey to obtain. |

Now that the draft lotto has been changed and a team can only move up 10 spots. Canucks are sitting in 13th. Feels like this would be the year the Canucks get to move up into a lotto spot. I'd be more than happy at 3rd overall to take Simon Nemec.
@ 13 overall leaning towards Ryan Chesley RHD of the USDP. Pavel Mintyukov would also be a goo pick there. Brad Lambert as well.

Two favorite trends this season.
- NY Rangers being a league average team, then going limit up every third period.
- Vancouver falling into a sinkhole every first period, then violently rallying to league average.
