This organization has no idea how to develop young players? Willman looked good in the last 2 games and scored a goal in each of them. So they decide to sit him tonight. York playing with Yandle again. Effing Bobby Orr would look bad playing with Yandle!! WTF!! Cates already looks like more of an NHL player than Frost. JVR should be bought out after tonight's game. |

yeah. you guys are the rival. it helps when theyre both compelling. not trying to be a Richard but the flyers dont even win frequently enough anymore for the result to be anything but a foregone conclusion within moments of flipping the game on.
pens have some dark days ahead in two or three years. that hole will be as black as it is steep. the flyers will probably be better than the pens then in an immediate sense, but it may be a long while until either team hits real relevance again.

Pens may have some dark days ahead but will they sink to the level of being an embarrassment? The Flyers are a complete embarrassment. Across the board.

to be fair, no one expected this bad. call it predictable and poor planning, but the flyers did not account for ellis being a complete nonfactor. coots down. hayes injury. this was a team that should have been in the mix for the playoffs. i get what you say when you say that should not be the goal, but by and large, the flyers are never an embarrassment to this extent.
a year or two of this and totally clearing house from the foundation studs on up would probably be for the best. regrow from ash. instead, they will bank on ellis/coots coming back and bring in a mid tier talent or two in the offseason and be right back in it for the 6th through 8th seed fringe next year. |

Frosty!! I am not a hater but I did not notice him much tonight till the goal. I didn't see the whole game Sunday but he did play well overall from what I saw. That seems to be his pattern...not very consistent. Then again, with this team, how can we expect much? |

I feel like Fleury doesn’t get the respect he deserves. The way the Pens let him go. The way Vegas has tried to force him out of town. Flower is so good. |

It's so much more than just the injuries. It's a complete mess. I've seen teams that have had a lack of talent play with sound structure and compete. Team wise, they still have the same structural issues that they've had for 2 years running. It's rot from the top down. From the team execs down to the coaching staff.

It would come into play when you sign robin lehner to a long term deal after committing to Fleury first. |

i got cut off typing and just let it roll haha
but i meant as far as the pens go. there was likely a need for a fresh start and at the time murray (who is his own horror story) was a big time young guy on a cheaper deal. the cap dictates that you move on to preserve resources into other portions of the team. i do get what youre saying though. if you blind resume him, his career body of work is up there with virtually anyone. i love the guy but ill definitely admit my appreciation of him grew from missing him back there. he caused a ton of frustration in some very prime years with his inconsistencies and headcase episodes. definitely a lot of chicken or the egg arguments with the postseason meltdowns between him and the team in front of him however. |

Every player on this team looks average at best.
No help from the other draft lotto teams tonight either. Boo. |

Can't wait for the franchise's first time missing the playoffs 3 years in a row next season.
Edit: check that. I'm sure it's happened already. |
