One team will win the cup, some contenders windows will still be open and some, one step closer to closing. Flyers, who really (frank)n knows |

I like lindblom, but the one thing they are going to have is players to backfill for lindblom, at a lower cap hit. If you can package lindblom and JVR (10mil) and get anything back, I am in. That said, I am sure you read my whole post and what I prefer from a strategy standpoint. This was my answer to the keystone cop scenario - wcorvette
There are no guarantees that any prospect will match the player that Lindblom is. I personally feel he is the kind of player that a team needs. He has heart and determination as well as skill. He can play up and down the lineup. I'm not at all against trading any player if it improves the team. However giving Lindblom away to clear cap space for a player who has one year on his contract left, would be complete malpractice and horrendous decision making. I think your premise is absolutely ridiculous. I have no clue why anyone would be in on that. It's that bad. This is not a team that is one move or a few moves away from winning a Stanley Cup. This is not a team that should have any business in giving away young assets for minor gains.

I thought Kimmo was on the no touch list here since he used to play here?
Don’t we have to go outside of the org since bringing in non flyers is always the right move? - Joe Nardone
I've heard about this great college football coach. He doesn't know anything about hockey but he's a great motivator. I think he's going through a rough divorce and would like to get away. Might be worth a try? |

Might be kind of though fitting him under our cap without sending something else back to Vegas, which kind of negates the point for Vegas. - MBFlyerfan

Aren’t his kids about to start school. I believe he was asked during the tv series AV s first year. Interesting response |

Kimmo for President in place of Homer!! Bobby Brink will probably be the next signing when his college team is done with their season. |

Why would anyone complain? The Flyers are in the catbird seat. About to take over the League.

So Hart with the nagging injury down the stretch again. Is it him or he needs to be Gumby to play for the Flyers ? - wcorvette

Everything he said is just common sense. Anybody who isn't toeing the company line or actively trying to save their job would tell you that this team needs to rebuild and play the kids and stop valuing truculence over things that matter more. Hardly a qualification to become GM lol.
It's funny how excited people get all with the idea of turning the team over to the next generation of former Flyers players. Briere, Kimmo... yeah no thanks. How about some actual qualifications and/or track record of success? - Tomahawk
Didnt we try that already? Former players all end up back in the league in some way or form its nothing new. The problem lies above the GM. Comcast wants $$ now. A rebuild doesnt fill the seats. Thats why most GMs tend to avoid the word rebuild.
Every GM in the league is a former AHL/NHL player except
Kyle Davidson (Hired this season)
Ken Holland
Bill Zito
Kent Hughes (Hired this season)
David Poile
Lou Lamoriello
Pierre Dorion
Chuck Fletcher
Doug Armstrong
Julien BriseBois
Kyle Dubas
Patrik Allvin (Hired This season)
Kelly McCrimmon
More than half are former players
How many of the above had proven track records before being hired?

Homer retired already. Fletch is Pres. - Tomahawk If Homer retired then why the hell is he in all the press conferences? Another reason this organization is a joke! All these good ole boys(Clarke included) supposedly retired are hangin around the team still involved in the decision making process. No one else does it this way and this way doesn't work. Flush em all down the toilet at once!! |

You are welcome to your opinion, this isn’t about what we think is right, it is about what we think they will or can do based upon the mandate. By your response it appears you think someone would jump at that offer. I’ll reference again that I wrote my preferred direction for the Flyers, in my post that brought up Lindblom.
While I like lindblom a lot, his skill set is something that will be easier to replace for the Flyers or better said the Flyers need skating they need speed and players with great edge work. So for this to be ridiculous, it would have to have no merit, based upon your comments and how much you think of Lindbloms game and what he brings, it must have merit. It would open up 10 mil of space and that would allow CF to go shopping’ that has merit based upon the mandate. It would allow for another winger a chance to step up, that is a deeper area for the Flyers system. You would keep TK, who does have speed and skill. You can disagree and think it is ridiculous, just like I can think your reaction is ridiculous for saying this is ridiculous.
FYI
My preferred method, was to play out next season, let that fan base know, have the best shot at the top pick and then maybe go for the re-tool the following year. That was said in the original post |

You posted "I start with Lindblom" multiple times. How does my response of believing that the move is an awful move suggest that I think that someone would jump at the offer?

You don't seem to grasp my simple response of basically saying that the suggestion of the move is pretty much a ridiculous suggestion. How is that insinuating that the move has merit? I was trying to be polite in labeling the move. I think it is a colossally stupid suggestion and course of action for the Flyers to take. It would be pure incompetence in my opinion.

Every GM in the league, player or non-player, had executive experience before getting tabbed for the big seat. Even guys like Francis and Sakic, who were fast tracked, were in other positions before getting the call.
And it's more about the Flyers not self-restricting their pool of candidates to only alumni and friends of alumni for major hires. They're worse than the Habs and Francophones in that regard. |

He starts getting good once he's allowed to clutch and grab w/o fear of penalty.
But yeah, he's not the best hockey player. |

Their defense as a whole is like a leaky sink, there has been guys behind them all night. They desperately need Ekblad back if they are going to do anything in the playoffs. |

Thats what we did with Hextall and now Briere. They both were in the organization prior to becoming GM. Hextall also had experience in LA
