I just want to throw this out there. Yesterday I read an article about Vegas having huge cap issues. If the Flyers get a top five pick Trade it to vegas for Shea Theodore?

I looked at Vegas 3 times yesterday, Zeroing in on Theodore. At his age I dont think they will move him, why I asked about AP, his contract and term they might move.

I would not move the pick but I would send Provy plus and take a cap dump for Theodore. I think they want Dadonov out. All that said, you would have to have JVR's contract gone

I could see CF taking on AP.

Might be kind of though fitting him under our cap without sending something else back to Vegas, which kind of negates the point for Vegas.

Pretty harsh characterization for a guy dealing with a lot of unforeseen medical issues. Von Hayes he ain't.

I can sympathize with the person but from a Flyers fan perspective it is what it is. A wasted pick in a can’t miss spot.

He has 1 year left, why give up Lindblom for nothing? It’s not like we are close to competing for anything.

Vegas wants to dump salary. Not take any back. They can offer Shea to other teams with better prospects.

AP has a nmc though can see them feeling him out to trade.

You're talking about sending $8M in salary commitments to a team that's about to play home games in a 5000 seat arena... and you expect to get a pick back in the deal? Common.

It's gonna cost more than what the Flyers gave up in the Ghost deal. Cap is only going up $1M again next season. There are a lot of teams in trouble and everybody wants to dump salary to the 'Yotes.

He doesn't seem like a Flyer pick. Doesn't have the 200 foot game nor the versatility to build this team into the defensive powerhouse it wants to be. Flyers would be wise to go off the board with their first selection that no one expects to be taken in the 1st round.

Not somebody who the Flyers would take with a lottery pick, no.

I can agree with all of that and still say that he is not a "bum," which I reserve for players who can't but won't or don't care. None of those are true for NP from what I have seen.

Still taking issue with things I did not write? Pretty typical. Forgive me if I decline to respond to your rhetorical question. Perhaps you have delineated a plan to our offensive scheme (pun intended) that you can enlighten us all about.

What would you think of a trade involving two buyout canidates? Both only have year left.

Would you do Monahan for JVR?

Or do you think Calgary would just prefer the buyout and get the cap space? If they lose Gaudreau maybe they could use a winger?

It was just a thought. I don't see JVR back next season as it will be either a buyout or trade.

kind of the point, CF is going to retool, he will need to move out salary. I love Lindblom but at 3 mil, pairing he with JVR move 10 mil of space. Then if you look at what position the Flyers have depth, it is wing

8. Matthew Savoie, C, Winnipeg (WHL)
Jan. 1, 2004 | 5′ 9.0″ | 179 pounds
Jan. 2022 Ranking: 8
Tier: Projected bubble top and middle of the lineup player

Skating: Above NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: Above NHL average
Compete: Above NHL average
Shot: Above NHL average

Background: Savoie was one of the best forwards in the WHL as a 17-year-old helping lead Winnipeg to the top of the standings. He was a point/game in the USHL as a 16-year-old. Savoie was the top pick in his WHL Bantam Draft after applying for and being denied exceptional status to play at the age of 15. He played at the U17 Challenge for Canada as a 15-year-old and was a top player.

Analysis: Savoie is a very talented scorer. He stands out with the puck on his stick and can attack in a variety of ways. Savoie is an excellent passer, who can run a power play, hit seams at a high rate and make tough plays under duress. He has very good hands to maneuver in traffic. He has good speed to beat opponents wide and he has a shot that can score from range. Savoie lacks the ideal NHL size, but he competes hard and wins a surprising amount of battles for his size. He doesn’t have incredible speed and skill for a 5-foot-9 player so he may be moved to the wing in the NHL, but regardless I see him as a very good top-six forward.

Keep in mind as you read these that "NHL Average" isn't really a knock. For kids at 17-18 to already be doing anything at an "NHL Average" is already pretty great.

Between Brink, McClennon and Andrae, we have cornered the undersized market. I say pass on adding to that list with a first rounder. They can't all be DeBrincat and St. Louis. Some of them will be Odeen Tufto.

you have to start somewhere, could the Yotes not turnaround and flip Linblom for a higher pick, or are trades limited to one step?

Curious what you would do?

It is amazing that your powers of reading comprehension somehow missed the word "undersized." Happy to help.

What is going on with Monohan? He was an absolute beast. Can’t imagine how hard he had to fall if you’re seriously suggesting moving JVR for him.
