I don’t know if the Wild are good enough to win a round or two, but whoever they play is not going to have fun.

I didn't question his coverage. I called it responsible. He just got beat on foot speed is all. Hardly his fault.

You are ass backwards today.

Pod seems like the type of player who embraces intense physical games like these, a very promising sign for his future.

I thought he was still cheating down looking for the puck to come out in the middle. Hughes should never have gone down low like that. If he had either come back or even changed that play never would have developed.

Next 2 games @stars and @blues are real playoffs tests.

win-win scenario the canucks gonna be legit to grab a spot.

Zero points means golfing time and bring all prospects to get some experience.

I misread your post... just realizing it now. I see now you said it was hardly responsible rather than he wasn't responsible(for the goal).

My bad...

I was unsure if he was cheating but ya, if he was covering he would have been closer to Ek...

Walk a mile in my shoes.

If you add all of Bloated's bans together it's about two years worth. My Bloatedhefty account was banned for two years straight (might have actually been longer but I can't remember).

Russo said that Evason and the players in the room were raving about Hughes and how he always plays great against the Wild. The Wild thought they could wear down the Canucks with the back to back but they just didn’t wither.

It is 3 on 3 too, pretty hard to avoid the fast breaks

It's why as soon as you lose possession, all 3 players should be acting as if they're on the penalty kill and rush back to the defensive zone and set up the triangle and force the other team to try and beat the goalie from the perimeter. When you don't have a lot of team speed, that's the kind of hockey you need to play in regular season OT, and hope to god you either don't lose possession and score or hold them off and try to win in the shootout.

For all the big hits being thrown and rough stuff, Hughes was too evasive for them to catch him last night

The age their core is Lindholm was a good pick up. 6.5 for 8 years for a guy that’s 28 might stink near the end but GM’s shelf life is so small why worry.

If you consider evasive to mean avoiding board battles, net front battles and throwing snow, then ya, Hughes was awesome.
He should be buying Schenn supper, on a nightly basis.

Their prospect pool is pretty thin, but they have been a contender for over a decade, that tends to happen. Tampa and a few other teams will have similar issues soon.

If the team played better defensively as a whole, Hughes wouldn’t stand out so much for his shortcomings. In a society of midgets the midgetiest midget still stands out.

Even if the team played better defensively, he'd still be a emaciated dwarf, same with EP40. No one takes thin dwarves with no beards and no real meat on them seriously.

Both of them more than make up for their faults with their benefits. Not many of the other players on the team can say the same.

Being tall or being heavy isn’t a benefit in and of itself.

Hughes at least you can say makes up for it with his point totals, EP isn’t anything special offensively these days. He’s good, but not great. And his fear of physicality gets exposed in games like yesterday. Just like Boeser’s lack of speed does.

These players should be available for trade this summer.
