No, I think it was that they couldn't retain if they traded him back to Calgary ...some kind of expansion draft rule.

If Dubas can get Chychrun for picks and prospects I hope he’s all over it. What do you suggest, we wait for the next rebuild to go all in? Honest question, not trying to be a Richard.

I love Kase. But it's partly a style of play thing with him. He's bent over at the waist all the time, leaning foward, leading with his head. Head contact just finds this guy.

Been said before by a few GM's... trade deadline is for shore up and tweaking. The offseason is for remaking your roster.

We do what we can to strengthen and try and go on a run and tear come playoffs. After that we can address things and or balance it. Dubas already said they were standing by the core as it is now, but if they don't get it done then changes would be made so they fired that warning shot across the bow of the players. I think for now though we are what we are and will try and do what we can to succeed and win with the team as is.

And I think Dubas said as much last fall. No more excuses with this core. Augment this group and let show what they've got.

If it's disappointing then I think we see a restructuring that will include Nylander getting moved. Matty and Marner aren't going anywhere ..and JT is locked in. The only big salaries that make sense are Muzzin, Willie, and Kerfoot.

For now ....we enjoy the ride painted in blue and white.

Sateri for backup at 750K. We picked up the goalie. We are running with Campbell.

Wonder if there are roster players involved which is why its taking so long to hammer that out.

Especially if there is no 3rd party team.

Leafs can also keep both goalies up for 250K more than Mrazek's buried cap room. Expanded rosters after 3 PM tomorrow.

He signed Setari from the KHL. Won gold with the Finns at the olympics. He has to clear waivers which he's on waivers today for this purpose.

This will kick Holl out if Muffin gets back.

Literally the only big move left is Chychrun. To acquire him is a scorched earth move, decimating the picks and prospects, and probably Sandin to boot. Even Dubas knows he can't go all in with this squad.

True though with Woll hurt expecting Kally to be sent back to the Marlies there to shore that up.
