A guy who is dependable defensively, has a true slap shot (unlike other leafs d men), is a smart vet who won the Norris only 3 years ago, and is a true leader.

He's not great at defending, he's not a significant offensive threat anymore... he's got tons of experience which is great and he can still skate but... does he move the needle all that much when Muzzin comes back since someone needs to play on his wrong side for all this to fit?

Its an good deal, I like Gio, it will be better if he signs for next year....they have to resign him.
Its a very early 2000's -esque trade, lots of pics for an old vet (but at least we got a younger vet in the mix as well.)

Time will tell, hopefully it wont be a Foligno, Gilmour type of result...hopefully this propels the leafs to the 2nd round.
A top 4 of Morgan, Brodie, Gio and Muzzin is probably the best top 4 the leafs have had in decades.

Ideally? Probably Lindholm, but the price was most likely too much for Dubas.

Other than that... Chiarot or Manson would have been a better "fit" imo. Manson mostly because he's a RD.

Florida.
I dont believe we could beat Carolina in a 7 game series...(although they have Andersen....so it depends which version of him shows up)
Tampa, kinda the same boat, they have elite goaltending and so much depth, quality coaching that I dont see the leafs beating them in 7.

Florida has good depth, quality D and forwards......but they have Bob. I could easily see Bob pitching a few stinkers in a 7 game series.
