I think the delay has to do with having to wait until 5 pm ET from a Leafs’ cap/roster perspective and Mrazek being on waivers.

Theoretically good for both. Vancouver saves $1.5 by turning Hamonic into Dermott. Dermott has more upside than Hamonic, even if it's just that he's younger. We add a decent pick where we had too few and gain space to fit in Gio.

That is the icing on the cake.

JFresh pointed out that Myers also sucks and is basically Hamonic. But instead of getting Myers for free and who is younger and has a $2.8m cap hit, you pay a 3rd to get an older guy who costs more.

Its a good trade for both.

I have zero confidence in Dermott becoming anything more than he is...but he deserves one more shot at failing against better competition. Still a fairly paid 3rd pairing d.

Well we know Gio is 3mil and Blackwell 750K so need at least that much for it to go through. Not sure what we had available space but.... Dermott 1.5 and then take out Clifford plus what space we have. Might need Mrazek's to clear??
