As we always should, position of scarcity. Outside of Wright though, that's a-tall (see what I did there) ask for Cooley or Savoie to become that (think top 15/20 C in the league, I don't know if they are going to enter that realm). Doesn't mean we shouldn't take them if available, just the reality of they probably are backend 1C high 2C for their careers (nothing wrong with that). Question becomes for Buffalo, is that redundant, and would someone like Slaf add more to the org than those guys? Maybe, maybe not. I don't get paid to make those decisions, I'm just an oft banned troll on an internet forum after all.

Should have worded it better, help us more in the long run. Not this upcoming year, but possibly in 2yrs. I am huge on defense as you can tell. To me a very good defense makes your whole team better. From making a goalie's job easier to helping your offense cause you get the puck out of your end quicker.

The defense absolutely needs work. I'm with you on that. Lowering the quality of shot against depends heavily on the quality of your entire defensive unit. We need that strong, long term RHD. Like I said, if we don't get 1 or 2, I'm fine with Nemec.

Regardless of the moves Adams makes at the NHL level. Here's to hoping he puts an honest effort into building out the right side this and next year.

IF a team covets a D man wouldn't mind trading down if we are 5th or worse. Yes we may miss a couple but could really help organizational depth

Come out of the draft with the best D-man and a RW who can put up nearly a ppg.

That's a good question. He could return a good prospect, but if I'm using him, I'm trying to maybe package a 1st with him to find maybe a higher priced RHD, someone looking to cut costs. Ya know, like Tampa Bay. Erik Cernak will need a big pay bump after next season and that is a swap I'd be dying to make.
