so i've red that the cats are looking for depth on defense, have tippett and denisenko on the block, and if they need to move celery, vatrano's name has popped up...
any truth? - Michael Pachla
Idk, they keep things pretty close to the vest. Rumors are that they’re in on Giroux, and Tippett would be part of the return. I’d rather see them add to the defense (left side). They did just sign a deeman from the Jokerit team that recently dropped out of KHL. See what he’s got before making a move probably. He may be in tonight, if he’s cleared immigration red tape. |

+1 he fills such a glaring need... good news is he could fall to our second pick - hubie
No he will not He's not making it out of the top 10, and I would strongly think top 5. |

Slaf won't fall outta the top 8.. Our second pick will be like 20 - DirtyDan
I was thinking our second pick was lower. I could see him fall out of the top 10
guys like Kemmell, Geekie are rising..... like Lambert they arent having good seasons vs men (4 points in 24 games)so they could be the fallers, but yes he shouldnt make the teens

If Sabres have top 3 pick do you take him? Out of the 6 names 39 mentioned earlier where is he on your list? - Theguywiththething
IMO, I liked Savoie with our first, and still would if it happens. Honestly, anyone of those guys would be a great add. In order, of my preference, would be:
Wright, Cooley, Slafkovsky, Nemec, Savoie right now. Jiricek is an option as well. |

There's gonna be some good players that fall in this draft because of the last 2yrs. I have no problem using the later 1st for a hockey trade, but better be right cause there's gonna be some good players available. |

6'4 over 200. Can score and uses his body. No way he falls.
Geekie has fallen since he's putting up close to the same numbers as last year.

If we falls out of the top 10, Adams should be on the phone with 11, 12, 13 however far he falls to get him. I just don't see it. 6'4" power 220 who's fast and skilled? Seems like a guy who would be overdrafted, not underdrafted. |

Id love Savoie but i think he ends up going 3rd and we will be 4th or 5th. I havent seen Nemec play but Cooley looks real good |

4 points in 24 games could put some guys off
Adams already has taken guys with points/goals over size |

top 3? I would say no. The potential to get much bigger skill would make this a big reach. Much bigger than Quinn over Rossi.
I didn't see 36's list, but I'd rank as follows.
Wright
Savoie
Nemec
Cooley
Yurov
Slafkovsky
Bonus: Jiricek
I'd be fine swapping Yur and Slaf. I'd also swap Nemec and Cooley. |

What he did in the Olympics with the production he had should offset this. Lliga is notorious for giving bad minutes to kids.
Also, Adams took Rosen at 14 with 1 assist in 22 games in the SHL. But against his peers (SHL U20) Rosen had 12 points in 12 games. Slafkovsky? Lliga U20 18 points in 11 games.
Add in the Olympics like I mentioned, and the size, again, I don't see him falling and if he does someone is going to get an absolute stud. |

not a a (frank)ing chance.
I like Kemell but I've cooled on him this season. I'd stick him in at 6-9.

I don't necessarily disagree, and would potentially be talked into Savoie over Slafkovsky as well. To me, top 5 (outside or Wright) are almost interchangeable and while Slofkovsky isn't as "skilled" as the others he does things that the other just don't with the relentless motor, like I said Tom Wilson-esque. |

I would love to have a Slaf kinda guy here. But I'm prioritizing the elite 1C over the top 6 winger.

we both know this isn't how the NHL works, and we both know KA doesn't think like this. To add, I would love the idea of adding a top 4 RHD to the org. If I'm picking 6 and Slaf is gone, I'm going with Nemec or Jiri. If Cooley is there, I probably go Cooley if Nemec is gone. |
