He would be an excellent addition to any playoff team, and his deal having an additional season left on it, along with the Sabres ability to retain 50%, should bring a nice return.
- kingcong39

Yes he would and could possibly bring back the best return unless Olofsson explodes over the next couple weeks.

I'd take any of the 6 I mentioned and be happy.

If Tuch is out for a bit, the team is going to suffer.

- kingcong39

Yes they are, that was a hard collision and the way that right arm shot out like that just tells how hard it was.

Still be a tough negotiation my friend, I only come with 1 foot in the door.

Which is all thats needed for now, this is all contingent on lottery balls. There will be negative effects to bottoming out for the remainder of the season, those have been ignored for 12 years now and counting...

For this year, no more though, I want to see the needle moving to trying to win this offseason, no more lottery Balls.

So you want to give up 3 1st, one of them top 10 for a guy who could become a FA after next season. Sure sounds like a plan.

Kane has ntc
If he accepted a trade here now
He probably re-signs

But 3 first is overpayment

The Washington Capitals are a prime trade target with their cap situation and Carl Hagelin's long term injury. They're roughly $2.5M over the cap.

They need a quality defensive LW who can play the PK and score the occasional goal. Enter Zemgus Girgensons. By taking back the contract of Carl Hagelin (expires after next season) and Michal Kempny, the Sabres would be sending $2.2M to the Caps but taking back $5.25M. They could save the Caps even more than $3M on their cap by also retaining 50% on Girgensons, for over $4M in cap savings for the Caps.

- kingcong39

What would be the plan with Hagelin a LW and Kempny a LD for the Sabres?

Kane has 58 points, Sabres leading scorer has 42. What would you offer up?

I don't even want to see it this season, its over.

Players are supposed to just play but it would be deflating if after the resurgence of Skinner, Tage not hitting his head on the top of every door frame allowing him to play concussion free this year, Dahlins sack dropping and becoming a man, Tuch wanting it badly to work and putting the effort in nightly....

To see the team president send thank you cards from her yacht while the GM sits on his hands will make a player think.

Not many teams could take on 10.5 million
We could take all
Has ntc which limits teams he's going to
I agree it's a chance he could not resign
But again if he accepted trade here now
I think he would

So

One late first

Well we knew what this year was all about. It was about growing the young core. Unfortunately injuries put a kink in that, but we found out that we have a good foundation and we might just have fallen into a 1st line or high end second. Think we also see this team is young but has grown more than expected in 1yr. Adams is in a good spot this year, he can be aggressive without hurting the future. Let's see what he's made off.

Kane is worth more than that even if he was 36 years old, and the hawks are not limited to only accepting to relieve his full salary. Now you're competing with the rest of the league to make a hockey trade and this is low on the list.

I know it's in the AHL but Rusto in on fire, maybe he becomes a useful trade chip.

mmm... not sure about that. The first is ok and Samsonov is ok but I feel like if youre trading those guys, you could set your sights higher than a Tage-less ROR return.

Or becomes the next Jody Gage.

Some guys are too good for the AHL but just aren't made for the NHL. There's been hundreds just like him.

Now that is an idea I'd hop on board with.

Iorio for Girgensons.

General Mills makes cheerios at their plant here. In the summer when the wind blows right it smells like Cheerios downtown. Maybe they're making lucky charms now.

I just don't see Girgs or Olo having that kind of value.

Its a buyers market with limited funds available, IMO
