Or, that Chuck has a man crush on him.

Flyers could take on Hornquist's contract to sweeten the return for G. The Panthers have $6.5mil in dead space next season due to Yandle and another players buyout. They could use the space. Flyers have over $10mil in LTIR to use and have plenty of tagging space for next year as of right now.

If it gets the 2023 first and the prospect they want I would consider it.

- mickel25

Absolutely, the Flyers have the space to do this and they should take advantage of it.

I thought Chuck only likes big Finnish guys? If so that would be mean Lundell ... YES!

Off topic ... I play 3 instruments and one is keyboards. I am a big Thomas Dolby fan (as a keyboardist and technologist) and I have always wanted to learn how to play one of his instrumentals completely myself, and this past weekend I did that finally! Cross that off the list ...

If CC is traded to Florida and Lundell doesn't come back as part of the trade, should Chuck be fired?
- hello it's me 2050

Lundell would definitely fit as something I’d be seeking in return for Giroux. Seeing how Lundell is playing in the NHL and having an impressive season, I’d say he’s highly unlikely.

I went to see a presentation from Dolby at the Berklee school of music, where he was demonstrating how to did all his classic songs using I think 3 keyboards, an Akai MPD218 and a Macbook Pro with his proprietary software and Pro Logic to control it all. It was quite impressive.

So you’re saying that a potential extension will not be discussed. That’s due diligence for any team looking to acquire a rental player with Giroux’s skill set. Hence the involvement of Giroux’s agent.
- Sinisalo4vr

I think that will be between Giroux and whatever team acquires him. I don't think the Flyers will involve themselves in that discussion.

It depends, if Fletcher gets back a 2023 1st, Tippet and Denisenko, that would be a good haul though still not as good as getting Lundell who you know can play and possibly be a 1C. If he comes back with a couple of lower prospects for G only, I would not be happy, that is for sure.
- jd250

Lundell is on ELC and just as productive as Giroux. Why the hell would Zito do that?

Flyers would be lucky to even get Tippett plus a pick out of FLA.

I think its critical actually for Fletcher to get the type of return he needs to propel this team forward, i.e getting a player like Newhook or Lundell. Bottom line, the Flyers don't need late round 1st round picks or more marginal players or prospects, they need top end talent and G represents one of the best ways to obtain it sooner rather than later. I read this morning that one of the Florida prospects the Flyers were looking at was a defenseman Carlsson, who they project to be a bottom pairing defenseman that would be an upgrade over Yandle. Really??
- jd250

Your expectations are set to high in my opinion.

It's exactly the type of move the Flyers should consider for the right return but they're not that smart. They want to get right back in it next year.

People think we’re getting productive former top 12 draft picks for G

Do these people not pay attention to the deadline deals other teams make. It’s not happening. Late 1st and 3rd and maybe a former 3rd round pick player at best.

But chuck should demand a potential top #1 center in return.

- Edmonton has been actively scouting the Philadelphia Flyers. The biggest name circling the web here is Justin Braun. The 35 year old has one year left on his contract at 1.8 million and plays on the right side in the top four for Philly. This is the name Edmonton is pursuing the most. Another name that has been looked at in far more in passing is Derick Brassard who has played very little due to injury. I see this as a depth bottom six option that would cost very little. I’ve heard Josh Archibald attached to Philly as well.

- Martin Jones was once heavily tied to Edmonton but those talks have gone ice cold. I don’t see the Oilers going after a goalie anymore.

Serious question…

What is more likely
Also infuriating

Chuck makes trades getting more than thought for whichever players moved?

Or

Chuck gets severely less than thought for players moved?

Or

Doesn’t move players thought should or would be moved ?

to be fair, you have another options "get about what you thought"

I think the board will be underwhelmed by the haul

Because Chuck was underwhelming or because the board is expecting too much?

I think between the deadline and the offseason, there will be more changes than last year. Chuck is currently saying "Hold my beer"!

I’d say about a 3rd of the board is expecting way too much for G. We aren’t getting a teams top prospect. We’re getting a late 1st, and probably a late 3rd or a player of similar value. Not much more than that.

With the amount of scouts attending games recently I would expect at least a few moves. I think G and RR are 100% gone, and they might as well take what they can get for Braun and Jones if offers for them come in.
