I agree. He has made his money. I think the prospect of an SC will be the determining factor. He may take less for a better shot at a cup, or two. - iamscore2day
Has he given any indication he wants to leave at this point?
Yes he will take less than his current salary. 50-60% less? Don't see it.

Claude Giroux has plenty of suitors...as he should... But now there appears to be one name that is rising to the surface... The Florida Panthers... The word is that Owen Tippett is high on the Flyers list as part of the return....
Off topic ... I play 3 instruments and one is keyboards. I am a big Thomas Dolby fan (as a keyboardist and technologist) and I have always wanted to learn how to play one of his instrumentals completely myself, and this past weekend I did that finally! Cross that off the list ...

If Giroux is willing to sign an extension upon being traded, the trade value goes up as opposed to just being a rental. I would think that's one of the possibilities out there, especially since Pat Brisson is quite involved. - bmeltzer
I think its critical actually for Fletcher to get the type of return he needs to propel this team forward, i.e getting a player like Newhook or Lundell. Bottom line, the Flyers don't need late round 1st round picks or more marginal players or prospects, they need top end talent and G represents one of the best ways to obtain it sooner rather than later. I read this morning that one of the Florida prospects the Flyers were looking at was a defenseman Carlsson, who they project to be a bottom pairing defenseman that would be an upgrade over Yandle. Really??

Sweet. Its great to finish a self project like that. Even if nobody hears it, you still end up learning and advancing.
My latest projects involve forming an LLC because I am now handling the money lol

What makes you think chuckles can propel this team forward?
They are no better today then they were when he got hired

If CC is traded to Florida and Lundell doesn't come back as part of the trade, should Chuck be fired?

It depends, if Fletcher gets back a 2023 1st, Tippet and Denisenko, that would be a good haul though still not as good as getting Lundell who you know can play and possibly be a 1C. If he comes back with a couple of lower prospects for G only, I would not be happy, that is for sure.

Flyers could take on Hornquist's contract to sweeten the return for G. The Panthers have $6.5mil in dead space next season due to Yandle and another players buyout. They could use the space. Flyers have over $10mil in LTIR to use and have plenty of tagging space for next year as of right now.
If it gets the 2023 first and the prospect they want I would consider it.
