It's laughable that he thinks the Flyers can get Lundell for Giroux at the deadline. - MJL
Outrageous. If Fletcher could pull off Lundell for Giroux he should get a bronze statue outside of the WFC |

If Giroux is willing to sign an extension upon being traded, the trade value goes up as opposed to just being a rental. I would think that's one of the possibilities out there, especially since Pat Brisson is quite involved. |

Exactly why Tippett is more likely to be included in the deal. It also won't be just Tippett. I imagine Fletcher is asking for the 2023 first round pick in any prospective deals. That would be the headliner. If they can get Florida's 2023 first round pick, Tippett and a prospect like Benning or Samoskevich, Fletcher would be stupid to turn that down. - TobyFlenderson
I have zero faith in the flyers developing or what not if they acquire Tippet, who at tis stage looks more like a suspect than prospect.
They have there own tippet in Frost.
My expectations are so low with Fletcher it would be impossible not to exceed them !!!

The potential trade talks between the Flyers and Florida and conversations between Giroux and the Flyers will not likely include his willingness to re-sign with a team he is traded to. - MJL
So you’re saying that a potential extension will not be discussed. That’s due diligence for any team looking to acquire a rental player with Giroux’s skill set. Hence the involvement of Giroux’s agent. |

G knows where he is in his career, he’s made his money. Who’s to say he doesn’t sign a two year extension for $3-4M per for a real shot at winning. |

I am sure he is as greedy as the next player and will look to make as much as possible He wont give any discount. I don't blame him as neither would I.

Doubt it - ClaudeFather
doubt it all you want. Until proven otherwise he will not take a huge pay cut. Based on his production easily a 6 million per player (maybe more) on 3 year deal.

I'd be shocked if he took less than that. |

If he took 3 million the PA would not be happy at all.

Didn’t the leafs trade a 1st and 4th for Federko?
Why would I not believe the flyers can’t see a similar return for either Risto or Claude?
Both are better players and have more to offer a playoff team.
Risto’s physical play and Gs ability to win draws are huge in the playoffs and tough to find from players who can play top 4 d and top 6 o.
Braun gets you are 3rd
Jones a 4th
Also listen to offers on Provy and Sandheim. If we are yrs away then move Provys contract and Sanheim out. |

I didn’t say this would exactly happen or it’s the only alternative. I’m saying there’s a scenario where a very good hockey team talks with him and his agent and he could get a few years on a contender if he were take less than what he could get on the open market. This is not an agent telling a star player in his prime to take a pay cut. He’s 34 years old. |

I agree. I see him getting 4.5 for 2 or 3 seasons. He has made his money and wants to play for a cup now.

Yup, I really don’t see him looking for top dollar, it’s a fit at this point. |

It would be both silly for an organization and himself to price himself out of a winning situation.

I agree. He has made his money. I think the prospect of an SC will be the determining factor. He may take less for a better shot at a cup, or two. |
