Most don’t. I remember when the G7 was here and there were a bunch of protests going on and some buddies wanted to go. I laughed. They had no clue what the protests were about.

One turned out to be the protest against GAP for their manufacturing practices. And they had the guy interviewing on tv against them while unknowingly wearing GAP shorts.

Rather than go to a corner and throw out false equivalencies I like to read what somebody says. Whether or not I agree with anybody's opinion on a topic shouldn't matter, I've argued many times nearly all protests are stupid and get coopted by the agenda's of others. I think it's entirely possible for a group to want to do something honestly and appropriately and to have outside forces take over the messaging and create a massive cluster(frank) because that's what happens with every single issue in society nowadays.

Discussions, debates and arguments shouldn't be about picking a side and cheering for their laundry

The way I do it is I look at the people who argue nonsensically on a topic in support of "their side" and say to myself "self, you say more than enough dumb things on your own every day. But don't be like that. Just don't". Sometimes it even works
