Bill, The injury bug hit the Flyers hard this year, especially with players coming back from injury and getting re-injured. Has there been any talk about a shake up of the medical/rehab staff?

The injury to Ellis to start the season sucked. Was there a disagreement between Ellis and the Flyers medical staff in regards to treating his injury? Did one side want surgery and the other side want physical therapy? Sort of like the rift between Eichel and the Sabres medical staff?

It isnt the same thing. Frost's future is as a C not a Wing. He needs to develop as a C. You cant throw a young guy at LW have him develop his game there and throw him back at C and expect him to succeed. They are two different positions with different responsibilities. Giroux was already an established C at that point and he was moved to LW as an experiment to jump start the offense. It worked so they kept him there.

But its not a mixed message. Offense in hockey originates from turn overs and good defensive structure. What Frost is going through is exactly what Joe Thornton went through his first season in Boston under Pat Burns or what Couturier went through his first few seasons in Philly. Frost has got to build up these skills and awareness and once he does, his offensive game will accelerate because then he will be put into a better situation where his skillset can finish off plays. You can have all the skill in the world, but if you do not know how to obtain the puck, it means nothing.

Yeah… the Flyers need to decide who and what they are. They don’t seem to have a clue. Gimme a team that has a culture of outworking the other team AND designs a strategy based on the players’ talents and weaknesses, smatter in some size, speed, talent, then add a dash of pride and then I’ll show you a winner. As of now that’s not the mix of this team as put together by management… top down.

No idea....but in reading the q&a transcript, it's definitely more garbage. Nothing has changed. Management believes they're tops in the league in those key areas already, but are continuing to hire more people in an effort to be better, praise be to Dave Scott and his blank cheques!!!....It's only going to get worse I'm afraid.

After that series, I honestly thought rhe sky was the limit. I didn't realize the lights would switch off right away, and stay dark for so long.
