One TDL is not going to fix this. Who is going to be your goaltender next year? Your defenseman are below average, and your forward have maybe 3 that would make a SCF roster. Oh that's right, get a coach with a new system, and whalla, the players will all turn into all-stars.

To be fair they look much better since the coaching change still bad but the talent gap isn’t the fault of the coach.

Goaltender can be any veteran. Everything else doesn’t matter. Being bad next season, like very bad is a good thing.

Hopefully, Rocky recognizes that they tried to do that this year and it obviously blew up spectacularly. I would guess that they see it will get worse before it gets better.

It's a difference without a distinction. In the Hawks case, the GM is the Pres of Hockey Ops. Stan's last position was Pres of Hockey Ops.

He went from GM, to VP of Hockey Ops. to Pres of Hockey Ops.

The only difference is really in the titles. He delegated some of the contract negotiations to Davidson, and the others, but that's about the only difference.

Read you enough to know you will not change your views, and that's fine. But if refuse to take into account what a cap hit difference is between Gio and de Haan or a Hagel and Giroux or Hagel and Zacha or the different skill sets a Kubalik/Strome brings compared to Lehkonen you don't really wanna converse. And ditto if you think de Haan, MAF, Carpenter, Strome, Kubalik can't bring back a couple 5ths, a 4th, a 3rd and a 2nd is a MIRACLE... My mentioning Faulkner is 2 fold. It's mental masterbation and to point out what a complete and total farce the organIzation has come to be that Danny, who's lack of hockey acumen led him to extend and promote Stan this last off season, and a money lady that knows jack about hockey are the two that decides who will be the top hockey mind in the franchise. .......... To me it's disrespectful to the sport, the organIzation and the fans of the league but what choice did they have as they've let the franchise sink to this level.

Look at every other team's structure. All but a few either have a Pres of Hockey Ops or GM. Why does it matter how old the guy is? He's been in hockey almost his entire life, and been involved in front office functions for 12 years. He'll have a number of assistant GM's to help.
