Hexy won't move Dumo, but this would be an ideal time to do so. He still has quality perceived value and 1 year of term left. He is about to regress into Vlassic and become a top pair liability. |

I think you guys have been over-exaggerating how bad Dumo has been this year. He's definitely having some rough games this year, but he's still having decent season. |

Most of Pens chances are one and done. This team could really use a bigger player who plants himself in the crease. |

What a dumb ass penalty to take. It was every bit as obvious as Petts multiple cross checks yesterday. |

#1 star for the Pens... Kuraly. For that mind numbing, meaningless slew foot. |

I definitely would love to see us get a powerforward net front player. I do agree with most of you on I would definitely give up top picks this year to land someone who will help us this year, but it's not in Hextall's nature to do it. I do hope we go after Rakell and land him without breaking the bank. |

General question, preferably for pre-2005 fans:
I think it's safe to say that the top-4 players in Pens history are Lemeiux, Jagr, Crosby, and Malkin (that's my order, but that group is the top-4). But how about 5 and 6?
Does Letang get it? If so, you have to consider defensemen like Paul Coffey and Larry Murphy who were effective but don't have the tenure of Letang.
For forwards, how about Ron Francis? Kevin Stevens can also make a claim, as can Dupuis and Kunitz.
Does MAF make the list? If any goalie makes it, he's easily the best followed by Barasso.
I would go with Francis (arguably a better all-around 2C than Malkin) and Coffey (2 100+ point seasons and a 93 point season). |

#5 is Ron Francis. #6 is harder, but I'd lean toward Coffey. |

My first thought without thinking is Coffey and MAF. Coffey was such a dynamic player who made a big impact (never saw him live for the Pens, he was before my time).
MAF is the harder one. His whole tenure was a lot of highs and a lot of lows. Can you excuse years like 2012 and 2013 in favor of years like 2009 and 2017?
The only other guy you didnt mention was Ron Francis. Guy was exactly what the teams in the 90s needed. He isnt best known as a Penguin so that probably doesnt help his cause.
EDIT: surprised you put Jagr ahead of Crosby. I'd be at Lemieux-Crosby-Jagr-Malkin. Not a bad top four, we've been incredibely spoiled. Too bad Jagr didnt play out his career in Pittsburgh (though we probably wouldnt have gotten Crosby/Malkin had that happened). |

Crap, I said Mullen but meant Francis. My bad...not that Mullen wasn't good.

They'd be close, but Jagr was something else, and was much more dynamic. Also, when Mario retired the first time, Jagr could still dominate while playing with mostly second-rate players (think he had Kovalev at best). Not taking anything away from Crosby, but I put Jagr just ahead of him on my all-time list (5 and 6). |

After Coffey there's an argument to be made for Stevens, MAF, Murphy, Barrasso, Kessel and Murray. Yes, Matt Murray. Despite how things ended, he won the Pens two cups as a rookie. That should never go overlooked. |
