“Danny has been an excellent pro here. He’s done an excellent job for the Detroit Red Wings over a long period time,” Detroit coach Jeff Blashill said. “Very probably underrated, even with our fanbase and the impact he’s had here from when he first got here out of Western Michigan.”

The above was on DetroitHockeyNow.......sounds like he's done. What I didn't realize is that for the 10yrs he was a Wing, he played to a 0 +/-. I'm not a fan of that stat because of the nuances, but that's an interesting stat.

Are there any other good hockey message board sites out there? Looks like HB has no intention of replacing Jeremy. They don't have anyone posting for Dallas, Arizona, St. Louis, Tampa and now Detroit, so 15% of the league isn't represented. Just wondering if there's anywhere else where guys talk about Wings games.

I've not seen any others. I do see comments on a few other Wing's-oriented sites, but not like this one.....

When Filip Zadina stepped on the ice for the Detroit Red Wings last night, he crossed an important threshold in his career. As CapFriendly points out, his 141st game means that Zadina is no longer waiver-exempt and would need to clear them in order to be assigned to the minor leagues. With his effectiveness at the NHL level still very much in question–the 22-year-old has seven goals and 18 points in 55 games this season–and Jakub Vrana returning, some have questioned whether Zadina is long for Detroit. His entry-level contract will expire at the end of this season and he will become a restricted free agent for the first time.
Something to think about. I think Z will be on the move, if not this TDL, then in the summer. Arizona???

Vrana looking like he's been shot out of a canon since he's come back from injury. Hasn't skipped a beat. 3 goals so far in 2 games. Definitely a good sign. Fabbri has been scoring too... 3 goals in last 3 games before tonight. Hope it keeps going.

Side note... looking like DeKeyser has played his last game as a Red Wing...

Detroit has improved this year but no matter how much they improve with goaltending like they have , I can’t believe I am saying this but maybe we can bring back jimmy howard. Holy poop the wings goaltending sucks. There was a reason Carolina gave Nedeljkovic away for nothing they knew he was not that good.

Wasn't a good game for Ned especially that 2nd goal but 3 or 4 of the goals the Wings left guys completely alone in front of the net to score. This isn't just a goalie issue, it's a defense issue and center issue too. Also a coaching issue with how bad the systems are.

Zadina needs to ask Vrana to teach him how to snipe. I liked Vrana with Veleno at center...they seem to have some chemistry.

Wings need to bring in some size (that will actually use it) with some toughness for next season. Trade Rasmussen to Arizona (with a pick if need be) for Lawson Crouse. Sign Zadorov for the bottom pair. They need to be tougher to play against physically. Need guys that will go after the players going after your top players and make them pay. Babcock use to say the PP was the deterrent but it sure as hell ain't one now with this team.

I've been watching since they had Vernon in net and have seen this fanbase turn on every single goalie they get as soon as they start struggling. I'm not giving up on Ned after a rough month or so after he carried the team the first half.

Was tough to watch for sure from our perspective, they have a long way to go to be consistently good.

Jeremy had some health issues that forced him to step away as he could not provide the level of commitment he wanted to. He tried to hang on until a replacement blogger was found but had to take care of his health first, understandably. It's unfortunate though as he had built quite the following and most of us enjoyed reading his perspectives & open debates.

Jeremy sufferers from the affects of a closed-brain injury. Over the past year or so, his discomfort has greatly increased. Thus, he was forced to stop blogging because he couldn't take the strain on his eyes & his brain from the computer screens, television, and radio volume.

We DON'T deserve better. Jeremy stuck with blogging as long as he could, and whilst dealing with severe headaches, just to give us a blog to read & comment upon. Jeremy was a champ.

And YES, the game stunk up the joint

From NHL Rumors:

"One of those names who’s making a late entry to the fray is Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi, according to Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli. He reports that Detroit general manager Steve Yzerman is letting other teams know he’s “open for business,” with the sense around the league being Yzerman will entertain offers for any Red Wing not named Moritz Seider or Lucas Raymond. Bertuzzi is a desirable trade asset – he’s clicking at nearly a point-per-game clip this season and is locked into a $4.5MM cap hit this year and next. However, he and Josh Archibald retain their status as the only unvaccinated players in the NHL, and he’s already missed nine games this season due to border restrictions. It remains to be seen whether teams will be willing to acquire him with the risk that he may not be available for half of a playoff series or more."

I don't see Bert going anywhere. NOT going to get into the vax debate....just don't see him moving before the TDL (but who saw Mantha going anywhere?!?!?!?).

I'd offer that there may be another name that belongs on the "Do not sell" list: Larkin. He's arrived as a premiere leader for any team. But I feel he's a Wing for Life. Now, I'd also offer that it's entirely possible that when Larkin retires, the mantle of "Captain" could potentially fall on Mo Side's broad shoulders. Many variables at play, but there are certain players throughout the Wing's history that remain for life, and I firmly believe Larkin is going to be another one of those.

That being said, I understand business and wouldn't be raging if he was traded. But the reality of it is, we are NOT SCPO-bound within the next 2 years, Bert is going to age rapidly due to his style of play (and already having had back surgery...). Makes sense to get what you can to stock the cupboard for 3-5 years out.... I'm curious to see how this develops.

Nick Leddy ($2.75M retained) for Scandella + 2023 2nd + 2023 3rd
St. Louis dumps $.5M this season and Marco’s $3.25M for 2 more years + a better puck mover at LD for the play-offs, Detroit gets a placeholder at LD till their prospects develop + picks. A replacement that is better than Dekeyser.

Yeah he's been a trooper, he brought me back to posting here. When Duff was stinking up the place, I really had no reason to re-read stuff i've already read elsewhere because his original content was little to none, so I wasn't around here for years. Jeremy did great here, he'll be missed.

It's pretty common to sit the biggest trade targets near the deadline so there's no risk of injury ruining things.

I get that, seen it for years. Without a current blogger though was just thinking someone else may have heard a rumor of an impending trade, although not likely with the Yzerman camp as they are very very sneaky!
