It's pretty clear that many teams are not bringing their A game against the bottom feeder Flyers. Losing is losing.
- MJL

They may not be bringing their A games to start, and they may be playing their backup goalies, but top teams do not want to squander points to bottom feeders, they want to collect as many points as possible against bad teams. I don't think you are giving the Flyers enough credit here. They are playing much better now they have been at any time this season.

I'm leery about Frost and not a fan of him but agree here. I want to see what he is capable of, as Brassard is what he is at this point. Also agree that player development is flawed. I still can't believe how low we have sunk.
- Don Nachbaur

You see, this is where I disagree with Bill, MJL and the rest, this is what I can't get my head around and if I'm just being thick about it, I apologize. We have seen what Frost is capable of, and right now at this moment, its not great. He has been playing steady of the 3rd line for several games and 5 on 5 he just is not a factor out there. Some say because he is playing with a couple of stiffs, but then they fail to mention that one of those stiffs is Mayhew who has 6 goals and has been elevated to the top line. They fail to point out that every time Mayhew is out on the ice you notice him buzzing around, stealing pucks, generating offense, getting in the middle of scrums, etc. Mayhew may be a borderline NHL player, but the guy is not a stiff. Willman is an AHL player but I give him credit, he hustles out there, again makes plays 1 on 3 but just does not have the skill to finish them. But too often I ask myself, where TF is Frost, why is he not driving the play? To me this has nothing to do with who you are playing with and everything to do with confidence and proper instincts. Frost IMO is not there, and playing with different players will make ZERO DIFFERENCE until he figures this out. At least on the PP I see Frost have the right instincts so I am bummed he is not in the lineup for that, because the Flyers PP overall is putrid and I think Frost could help it. Maybe that is why he is sitting, because the Flyers don't want to win too many games right now.

The return for a trade of Brassard is going to be minimal. If the Flyers are putting the development of Frost secondary to showcasing Brassard. It's just another example of their incompetence. The reason why Frost has not been given the opportunity that he should be getting is exactly what other NHL scouts, AGM's and other pundits have been saying. The Flyers methods of player development is flawed and archaic. Meltzer has never stated that Frost is fragile that I can recall.

Yes he did, a couple of days ago. Not sure if it was his opinion or the opinion of the Flyers staff or maybe that scout he referred to. One thing I will say is the Flyers have acknowledged that their development of players has been subpar and have invested in hew hires to try to fix this. That is a step in the right direction, hopefully its not too late for a player like Frost with the Flyers. I honestly don't think it is. I still think its on Frost to play better.

I'm giving the Flyers all the credit that they deserve. Repeatedly you make claims that I don't know hockey or have never played and other nonsense. I know what you don't seem to know. That is that there are always let down games for teams. Times when a team takes another team lightly and doesn't have their A game. Games such as the recent Carolina game where Carolina was playing the 2nd half of a back to back and their 3rd game in 4 nights where they don't quite have their skating legs. So while I would agree that in a small sample they're playing improved hockey, I also realize the situations that are involved. I also realize that this needs to happen over a larger sample of games. They just broke a 6 game losing streak. There are no moral victories in hockey. In conclusion, the biggest difference between you and I, is that I don't make outlandish and unsupported claims about who knows what. I back it up.

No he did not. He never stated that Frost is fragile. What he stated when asked is that Frost's issue is a confidence issue and not a work ethic issue. Get it right.

Again, another major contradiction coming from you. At a higher volume than water flowing over Niagara falls. You constantly state that Yeo and Fletcher know what their doing and know how to develop players. Now you comment on the Flyers player development being subpar and it's a step in the right direction. Which is it? Don't bother with any unsuccessful spin attempt.

you are missing the common sense of it. I take a young guy, yoyo him back and fourth, tell him the play defensively responsible and then when I bring him up he plays with AHL talent. Not done, he usually is out there with Yandle and Seeler. Not done yet, he usually gets about 10-12 minutes a game to show what he can do. Imagine at work if you were treated like this? Now imagine you are only 23, you know, when all of us were so mature. For the record I see Frost make plays in space that only G makes, not often enough but he makes them. Frosts line-mates are what they are, he needs players who can make and finish plays, like Cam did yesterday, like how TK kept playing going.

I've tried repeatedly to explain the common sense of it. It's futile.

Don’t put Prov and Ov in the same sentence when it comes to this nonsense. Ov openly supports a murderous dictator. There is no sugar coating it. He(Ov) is scum and someone needs to call him out on it.
- Joe Nardone

I feel any public personality, unless taking a stance, is fair game, in the same way that south african athletes were during apartheid.
