As do I. Pretty much everything in the article was dead on.
- MBFlyerfan

Dead on in saying your D suck and this is what the fancy stats tell us Sanheim sucks the least haha. He’s been horrible, I don’t think one guy is having a good season. Braun has been ok

Worst roster move: Waiving Nicolas Aubé-Kubel
This one sure didn’t age well......
Aubé-Kubel has been a new player since heading to Colorado — or perhaps the better way to put it is that he’s back to his old self, recovering some semblance of his effective bottom-sixer form from the 2019-20 season when he was one of the Flyers’ biggest surprises. And maybe that resurgence never would have happened in Philadelphia; perhaps he just needed a change of scenery. But that’s part of the problem here. Aubé-Kubel can be an objectively useful player at the NHL level — he’s proved it. Yet something — the coaching, the culture, the style of play — was preventing him from reaching those heights again in Philadelphia. Then, he leaves, and almost immediately rediscovers his game. That doesn’t speak well for where the Flyers as a team stood in November.......

....At best, the loss of NAK was a miscalculation in terms of asset management, since Aubé-Kubel was waived both for salary cap reasons and because the front office believed he might make it through waivers unselected. At worst, it’s a repudiation of where the entire culture of the NHL team stood in the weeks leading up to Vigneault’s exit, given NAK’s near-instantaneous turnaround.

Neither are positive takeaways.

Where at now now. Everything that is happening now is happening now.

What happened to then?

You missed it.

When?

Just now.

When will then be now?

Soon.

Philadelphia is a big place. Maybe that's true if you live in center city but not in other parts. I couldn't possibly function well without a car. I don't understand how you don't see that.
- MJL

Sorry to bring this into here, just wanted to respond:

I haven’t owned a car in over a decade, and have commuted by bicycle for nearly the entire duration (PHL-NYC-Tucson-PHL-Tucson). I don’t know your situation in life, so I’ll refrain from guessing, but that’s where my perspective has been formed, so to speak. that’s where I’m coming from. I don’t mean any disrespect, bicycles are just my passion and something I really believe in

Also, yea the public transit in Philly is horrific, for the most part. A whole other discussion!

Yeah. That move irks me a bit in retrospect. I hated all the stupid penalties he took, but I was shocked at how well he played in 2020 then competed fell off a cliff. I wonder if there was any consideration about trading him for say another bottom six player? Maybe they just grossly miscalculated other teams interest? Clearly he had fallen out of favour but you spend several years developing him as a prospect into a decent bottom six forward then boom. He’s gone for nothing.

What fan revolt:

Before Covid

16-17: 5th in average # of attendance in league
17-18: 3rd
18-19: 3rd

All around the 99% mark.

Is that tickets sold, or butts in seats?
What % of seats are corporate/business owned vs private citizens?

Hence why I stated he would have to be getting 9 plus aav for a good long while.

I hope that doesn't happen.

- MBFlyerfan

Not even sure 9 does it.......He will realistically get 8 imo from several teams in a better spot than the flyers.

He also knows the fans will turn on him in an instant he under performs. Also the he will replace CC is also something I bet he doesn't want on his shoulders. As he will always be compared to him.

There you go everyone. There is nothing else left to discuss. PT21 has declared that and if you disagree with his opinion, you are a fool and clueless. He has declared it as such.

Might as well lock the thread Bill.

I have to give Bill, and some of those other beats credit for the Fletcher conference.

Some of those questions were of a caliber I hoped to see.

Continue to hold their feet close to the coals, because Fletcher being booed as he walked on to the ice is something we need to continue to see.

Unfortunately for the Flyers there is no plan B so they will keep throwing money at him until he accepts and he will likely accept. People delude themselves with enough money. He can convince himself that this team has a chance with $9+ mil a year and fans being outraged isn’t going to matter.

Well, the reason I repeat myself is quite frankly because a fraction of people believe a retrospective data driven conclusion is ""an opinion".

Well yours read like short, pithy manuals to discontinued models.

So there. 😂

Arena revenue, ok....

Remember the Sixers years before they sold? Years of bubble team status knowing team is not a legit contender? Followed by a tank of historic proportions?

Maybe thats what should give us hope.
