Update. Now he has 5 assists. All even strength. He's plus 6 tonight. I said him and Zegras would easily surpass Raymond and knock him off the ballot. I was told that was BOLD. Figured it would happen later in the year. Since then Lundell puts up 17 points in 15 games. Plus 20 in that span. Seider better watch out...

Not trying to put down Lundell because I think he is genuinely a very good player with a decent chance to become a great one, but the kid is going on a real percentages bender right now. Opposing goalies have only been .855 this season at evens with Lundell on the ice, which is not even remotely close to sustainable over a longer timeframe (unless you think Anton Lundell is already the single greatest offensive playmaker in the history of the NHL by a wide margin).

Everything is going in for Florida when he's on the ice right now, but sooner or later that's going to dry up and the points are going to get a lot harder to come by.

In short: not time to gloat yet. We've still got almost half a season to play.

I am with Larry Murphy's take: SEIDER for Calder! He was unflappable and a major diference maker tonight! Nobody got by him and he made a few quality rushes a well!

Seider would still be my No. 1 as well but TBH I don't know that there's a clear favorite among the top 4-5 candidates. Any of one of them could get (or stay) hot and take it at the end.

Very exciting group of young players this year.
