Don’t disagree but nobody else steps up often enough to support him night in night out. He’s not to blame for that.

I guess where I’m going is if someone will overpay for him, I’d trade him. Originally I’d say you need someone to build around, but like you said there’s no one around him. This roster ain’t going anywhere and the cupboards are bare. Can’t really retool in that scenario, gotta rebuild.

I replayed it 3x to be sure…

Miller came with speed & Lindholm 1 handed hooked him. Miller doesn’t embellish on a play like that to draw a penalty when he already was a threat to score. He shines in OT & knows & done it before. The non call was bs especially after a similar call was a penalty against in the 1st. Again micro managing NHL bs.

There isn’t really a true captain on the team. Bo is the closest but still can offer up more snarl.

It's not a prerequisite for Captain. Just something fans desire...

I like rhe puck pressure/possession style
- neem55

Sure but they squeezed us to the boards on entries all night. So forcing it over & over wasn’t working. That was playing into Sutters hand.

Ya it’s looking that way. Lots of changes are coming for sure.

Was he not hooked?

I mean could have gone either way … not obvious enough to quit on the play imho. Guy one handed put his stick parallel … I don’t know how Miller lost his stick. Almost looked like he was trying to draw a call all along and oversold it.

Miller no doubt will fetch the biggest haul.
Boeser could get a solid return but his QO is a hurdle.
Petey isn’t getting back the value needed the way his season has gone.
Garland seems to make sense as the 1st domino.
Don’t see a reason to move Bo.

Well the dump & chase was poorly done so as to forecheck & carrying it in they forced turnovers just inside the blue line all night especially at the boards. I haven’t heard an answer to what else could be done.

That penalty on bo was weak to, he barely lifted his stick, never touched the hands, the refs were looking at one team for calls and the PK was the only thing good tonight besides demko. Did they miss Myers? Down to schenn and Juulson on the right side that’s brutal.

My issues with the 2 ref system…

For starters I don’t see them both on the same page on what to call very often.

Far too often the back ref calls a penalty that is right under the nose of the other ref who misses or doesn’t call it. Hear announcers say that a lot.

My biggest peeve is they micro manage games. It’s a joke. Consistency is a 4 letter word & the league is to blame. Ppl like Ron MacLean are nauseating.

Why not use 1 ref so there isn’t 2 minds? Put another ref in the booth to signal down an obvious penalty or allow a coaches review even better. Anything as long as it gets cleaned up. Idc if there is 20 PP’s in a game either. Call it.

Ya somehow you can take a swing & hit a 6’7” D man in the yap but take your hand off your stick & give a lil tug is a penalty. Sure he gets the match cuz they review it but miss the other. Get it right not 1/2 ass.

I always thought putting more officials on the ice was their stealthy way of trying to prevent fighting and scrums etc(bouncers)... as far as calls go... twice as many bad calls and now they are doing reviews etc... at what point are they going to stop with the over policing of a game that's most entertaining with flow. It's about control... we shouldn't kid ourselves.

Well lets just say it’s the American way in sports to put band aids on everything til it kills the flow. It’s not the refs to blame it’s the league. They tinker & eff around & never are consistent. All they accomplish is chaos & make the 3rd team an opponent.

An example of blithering words…

The principal point of contact was to the head. Sounds like lawyer speak.

My version of the wording…

The hit was in excess & dangerous.

Got called to work in that crap. I knew it was coming so I ran the snowblower for an hour. Thankfully they'd already started cleaning up.

I was at work for 5 hours and made $700, it was worth it I guess. The only downfalls were I missed the game and the plow went by again on my street while I was gone. It even only took 5 minutes to get the fire roaring again.

No attempt to play the puck should come under scrutiny.

Plastering a player to the boards isn’t playing the puck. No angling then it’s boarding period. From behind it’s 5mins. Player turtles then no penalty. Sick of players drawing penalties instead of bailing to safety.

All crosschecks are a penalty period. Pushing is not unless near the boards. Crosscheck to a player on the ice is a double minor. Far too many cheap shots go on especially to the back of the neck.

Dives are 2mins & a 10min unsportsman like & call them.

1 ref only system & coaches reviews allowed from up in the booth. No communicating between on ice ref & booth ref.

Challenge lost is a 2min delay of game penalty. 2nd & every next one lost is a penalty shot. Coaches are free to risk it as they see fit & nobody else is to be blamed.

Less judgement by on ice refs just get it right.

BB calling out miller, poor effort, team skating in quicksand, no energy, we have to find out why and fix it.
