Pretty much. He overachieved for a bit then just fell completely off and stylistically wasn't that different than Kapanen. - Rinosaur
Kappy needs to realize he’s not a pure top six and maybe use that speed for smart defensive play. Start taking the body more. It would probably do wonders for his future in the nhl. |

Heinen a late scratch. Z is in.

With Heinen a late scratch, my guess for the bottom six is we see:
ZAR-Carter-Simon
Zohorna-Boyle-Kapanen
That's the third line that finished last game, FWIW |

He's back. That probably means after the game he's week to week. |

Honestly, the Pens just looked like a tired club. They're missing the jump in their game. Hopefully the seven day break coming up will give them some rest. |

They’re old. They need breaks |

Team desperately needs some time off.
A nice comeback, some stupid decisions, and a touch breakaway to give up... still hard to complain with where the Penguins are at. |

Did kapanen get a shift in the 3rd? But Sully gives ZAR and his 1 goal regular shifts the whole period with carter lol |

I mean, it wasn't good, but I wouldn't call it BAD. They've just looked flat too often as of late with pockets of waking up, but that isn't enough all the time.

They've looked flat for a bit now. My hope is at the worst they steal a point from the caps tomorrow and get then just get some rest.

Caps have lost 3 of their last 5....Bruins have lost 3 of their last 4....Rangers have dropped 2 of their last 3...
Bit of flatness going around it seems.... |

The way I see it the Pens deserve some flat games and to not get much flack about it. Their first half performance to this season has been impressive to say the least, especially when you look at all the starters missing from the lineups earlier on. They've built a nice padding in the standings and are about to get a ton of rest. Pens teams were in 12th in the East in February in both 2009 and 2016 when they won the cups, so that just goes to show that things can be turned around even when much more dire.

They still have all of their games remaining against the Rags and Canes. A couple flat games in January are nothing compared to divisional games in March/April. Plus, they have crushed it through the injuries. |

Tried the Meat Mitch BBQ sauce on some brisket I smoked on Saturday. It was awesome BBQ sauce. I would definitely try the Whomp flavor after that one. |

Nice! Yeah, the Whomp is great. They're really one of the better sauces I've tried.

If I can work construction for 50 hrs a week and show up drunk to beer league at 930 on a Sunday and still have a goal and assist, thoroughbred millionaire hockey players can show up every game. Period. |

You may be there for 50hrs a week, but i bet you actually work less than 40 or even 30. I think its like statistically proven that you can't be more than like 80% efficient, so i think 4/5 good games win or lose is acceptable.
They definitely don't "deserve" flat games the way matt put it. But its basically impossible to be on your "A" game 100% of time. |
