oh, that's rather sad, sorry to hear. I think the best thing to do in such a case is stop trying to convince them of anything, just listen. the more you try to show them that what they believe in is wrong or isn't part of reality, the more they'll stand ground and reaffirm their misinformed position.

So only 15% roughly? Sounds like they're trying to be responsible with it...regardless of where anybody falls on this issue it isn't really their money to hold without a STRONG reason

I also have a conspiracy theory friend with a wife who is worse and we all just publicly ridicule them at every chance we get. It's we love you but...and then we don't even hide it, sometimes it gets comically mean. I'm still friends with him and will likely see him this weekend.

Everybody has to make their own choices but in my experience, shutting people out, no matter how batpoop and fact free their opinions are, doesn't serve anybody but just pushes them farther down that rabbit hole.

it's called the Convoy for Freedom (*huge sigh*), it's supposed to be a protest from truckers all over the country against the mandatory vaccine... most of them want a peaceful protest, but some of them like Patrick King are saying the only way it can end is with bullets, which is so (frank)ing reassuring...

I have tried this and it didn't go well. You're right it's the best way to handle it but I think the only thing that will help is the end of the pandemic.
