Some interesting numbers that I copied from the comment section on a different site

In defence of OEL and Poolman (as well as Myers), they have been handed lots of defensive responsibilities and not a lot of offensive opportunities. If we look at zone starts and TOI, Hughes has 69.2% in O-zone starts compared to OEL (44.3%), Poolman (40.4%) and Myers (40.3%). Hughes has 157 PP minutes TOI compared to OEL (72), Poolman (3) and Myers (12). Hughes has 23 PK minutes TOI compared to OEL (81), Poolman (64), and Myers (106). The reason why these three have low point production is because they are too busy sheltering Hughes.

This sounds like statistics, which I know you dismiss emphatically.

Using the on the fly percent, do you think for someone like Hughes ,it was going in the offensive direction or the defensive direction?
- Reubenkincade

That would depend on how smart, or stupid the player he is coming on for is.

I mean how many players get to change when the other team is in the attacking zone? Seems pretty rare. It’s usually just one team holding the puck behind their net while players change. Usually line changes happen when the play has settled down(puck dumped in).

This is where you are wrong, I just don't agree with the purpose of some and the importance of others.
There is some good info within stats, depends on the context though.

Just teasing man, settle down already.

Also, I’m still teasing, so don’t go and have another conniption fit in response.

Speaking of the D, was watching OEL the other night. Sure, he’s still a capable NHL player, but he’s not a good Dman anymore. That contract isn’t going to age well. He will look more and more like Edler as time goes by.

Yeah he's going to need to take a serious step forward to make that contract remotely worth it. He has been just fine, which is not okay when you get paid like he does

Bruce on Brock; (Global)

Needs to move his legs
Need to work hard at practise
We are all keeping an eye on Brock, we need him to be the scorer that he can be.

Bye Brock.

Such as plus minus being least? Its ok for understanding who is playong well 5v5. It misses special teams, doesnt account for zone or an empty net. There are much more effective measures.

I don't know what that means but I'm surprised an emo like you is using a Trumpism.

Brock & Pearson are not fast, I'm curious to see what Allvin can get as the rebuild begins.

It does count for zones, a + is 99% of the time the offensive zone and a minus is 99%the defensive zone.
+/- was intended to give a quick look at how a player performs, offensively and defensively, a much better stat than say something like PDO.

Pearson needs to go for sure. I wouldn't mind seeing Miller go ahead of Brock simply because they could actually get a good haul for him.

Brock could just get Bo to take him to that figure skater who fixed his technique

Miller, Bo, Lamikko, Focht, Costmar and Karlsson= good depth.

Well I think the whole point of PDO was to use it as a context stat with +/- lol

Basically +/- and PDO = better than either of those stats alone

I don’t look at either stat personally but pitting two stats against each other that are meant to be used together to make an argument/point that one of the stats is superior is super weird lol

Corsi, PDO, zone starts are all outdated, that’s not what people use anymore, or should be using

I think Miller, Boeser & Pearson are all most likely gone by the start of next season. I'm hoping this management group is not the easy pushover the past regime was.

It's going to be a very interesting next 6-8 months.

Good thing about having new management is that they don’t have any attachment to the players so I think they’ll be open to trading almost anyone.

I think a trade with Pitt is inevitable, whether it’s big or small. JR/Allvin/Clancy will likely have players they like more than Hextall does

Yup, no teacher's pets. It would be nice to see something happen before the Allstar weekend.
