NYR hopefully

I thought Gorton was a bust, and now the Rangers are the #1 team you hope the Canucks are trading with?

Also, LeBrun just put a piece up on the Athletic with the Canucks as the lead and clarified it (since he had to write it):

Doubt the Rags move Schneider. I think they’d rather move Laf

Matthew Robertson with Laf and Othmann would be nice.

If this was Millers actual last contract year he'd most likely be gone. But if the team keeps sniffing the WC spot I can see Rutherford and the new GM keeping him for now. Unless it's a major fleecing like Rutherford has pulled off in the past...but like anything Rutherford has also been fleeced. lol

is that what they call it in Red Deer?

I am with Don on his post last night. I am resigned to the fact that Miller will be moved. There will be a big hole there when he is gone and Laf is not the answer.

I like this team since Green has had his ass kicked to the street and I think it is a pretty good group. My preference would have been to move Petey and Boeser but that is very unlikely to happen.

Laf has sucked hard, even Kakko has had a better career so far. Schneider and Othmann are intriguing

My worry is that they target Laf because of the Castonguay connection

Bruce has them playing better offensively and with more of a backbone. Was catching up with a friend last night and he pointed out how a guy like Bo’s physicality has ramped up under Bruce, makes you wonder if Green neutered these guys a bit while Bruce encourages playing hard.

Would definitely want Schneider, but he will be their best defenseman next season.

It wasn't just Green,it was also Willie before him. Worst 8 years of Canuck Fandom ever.

Rangers and Colorado look to be set up nicely on defense, for a decade.
I am not as concerned about Laf as some others are, I haven't watched lots of Rangers games since he entered the league, but I have seen about 12 or so. He needs to be moved to centre.

Yeah, their defenses will be sick for a long time. Hopefully Byram won’t be too (frank)ed up by his concussion symptoms, he looked like a stud this season. Colorado also had Timmins who was looking like a potential top 4 dman before his concussion issues.

Laf looks lost or disinterested. I wouldn’t write him off because he’s clearly talented but I’d be nervous if he’s the centrepiece in a JTM trade

Hopefully they learned their lesson, a retool needs a coach with NHL experience.

I wanted Hartley after WD. He’s a Gallant type. Not a great X’s and O’s guy but a good motivator who will give young guys a chance to play and also have his teams playing hard every night. He schooled WD in the playoffs too. Good for a young team.

Othmann and Robertson are 2 pretty good prospects.
Anyways, I believe Colorado will be where he ends up, if traded.
Colorado needs to be all in, so I could see Newhook and Barron being the centrepieces for Miller and Halak

I’d be cool with Othmann + Robertson

Newhook + Barron would be decent too

Ideally you can get a draft pick as well

Random thought but it would be pretty cool if Arizona moved to Portland. Get more northwest flavour in the NHL. Canucks would be the 3rd wheel in two rivalries then(CGY/EDM + POR/SEA) lol

I've read quite a few Rangers articles that think he's going to be dealt for forward help.

Green was okay for three years. It was a team that needed high draft picks. He was like a little league coach and knew some of the fundamentals but when they started getting in pieces he was way over his head (except to Vancouver media ) .

As much as everyone thinks this D sucks look at the goals against since Bruce there it is has come on board. It doesn't produce a lot of goals ( no one in front of the net) but it is not giving up a lot either.

I'd be good with Schneider + Kravtsov + 1st for Miller + Motte. Let Kravtsov buddy up with Podkolzin under the tutelage of Bouds.
