Yeah, musicians usually have the hearing of an old man lol...if there's a lot of background noise like in a bar or crowded room, I'm reading lips to understand people, it gets washed out. Probably if I really listened to lossless music on fine speakers I'd notice, but I'm not as attuned to sound quality as some.

I do like a sense of 3D space in a recording, I can feel that from my vinyl which also seems to depend on the production. Music production feels less 3D in the last couple decades, but I don't how true that is.

Computers do play a larger role in studio but there is still bands that still flat out play.

I think the focus anymore is how to best make sales…. A lot of performers aren’t the writers these days… very similar to the 80s imo, I do expect it to break into something more raw once again some day… when tho? No idea

It's not destroying Rogan, he's talking nonsense and he's getting called out for it.

Aaron Rodgers played the same violin about 'the woke mob` when all that was actually happening was he was being called out on reckless, idiotic words and actions.

If Rogan wasn't spitting facts they wouldn't need to censor him, they are just mad because nobody buys the MSM narratives anymore and Joe has the most eyes on him now. You're being hoodwinked by media corps mate.

I use Apple Music so Neil is still playable for me

old friend of mine used to play in the GTA. He did a great Neil Young show. Now he heads up the 905 Band. Good band to go see.

Not saying you're wrong - to each his own... here is a list, just sort of random of some of the albums that were pretty good that were released in the 80's, not ranking or saying they are the best, just were pretty good

Scary Monsters - Bowie
Full Moon Fever - Petty
The Travelling Wilburys volume one
Avalon - Roxy Music
Remain in Light - Talking Heads
Closer - Joy Division
The Queen is Dead - The Smiths
Synchronicity - The Police
Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits
Boys and Girls - Bryan Ferry
Graceland - Paul Simon

- winsix

I had all but 2.

Avalon was the best

Yeah, I'll keep listening to and reading experts in the field when it comes to biology, epidemiology and medicine. I'm quite comfortable with that.

I've talked directly to doctors and nurses for medical advice during the pandemic, it has nothing to do with media when I'm discussing it with doctors at the hospital or my friends working the frontline in Covid ICU units. But thanks for your alternative perspective.

GTA was always fun to play….

And I see they got a good site…. 905 band name based out of where they’re based or something (ie: the hammer)

Sincere question… looks like they’d be a blast to see, always loved playing with horn players myself

Some day, someone will explain to me how right wing populist politicians like Boris Johnson and Doug Ford willingly play along with the leftist fake agenda of the fake covid thingy.

Some day.

Same here, multiple neurologists, multiple neurosurgeons, my long time family doctor, had a lobectomy about a year ago (feb 3) and I was still told by them to get the vaccinations even tho I need to take 3500mg of meds a day already.

I’ll just roll with their opinions lol

We definitely need disclaimers everywhere because we, the unwashed masses, cannot be trusted to use critical thinking without Big Brother giving us warnings and guiding us to the Truth.
- mjones242

I'm guessing this is sarcastic but it's also true. Being contrarian isn't thinking critically, being critical isn't thinking critically. Thinking critically is using the methods and wisdom that have been passed down through generations, that have appreciably improved our knowledge and quality of living, to evaluate information and almost above all else acknowledge how much one doesn't know.

Lots of people don't know how to actually think critically and end up just believing whatever is outside of the mainstream. News flash, people that don't accept mainstream medicine are more than likely wrong and they're ignoring the peer review and scientific methods that is responisble for the biggest improvement in the quality and length of life in the history of mankind, objectively.

Tracking devices? More of the opposite, they cut some out and just tell me to come back a couple times every 6 months (without seizures)

That’s still not enough to be 100% certain that they didn’t put anything inside my head but I’m sure it would turn up in the MRI’s I still get fairly often lol

So many nurses fired. Doctors with different opinions canceled. So how come you only agree with the nurses and doctors with same opinion? Confirmation bias and tribalism.

Some nurses fired for refusing vaccination and the only doctors on hold are the ones who do not perform crucial surgeries.

Care to try again?

I'm sure there's a very coherent and logical explanation and I look forward to it. Perhaps they are actually mobile holograms funded by Hugo Chavez and JFK from their secret underwater base. Just asking questions here. I'll probably get censored just for questioning 'science'.

YouTube is free and I don’t think I’ve ever not found a song I was looking for. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you were trying to find the name of a song from a couple of lines in the lyrics, who would be your best source?

This.

For me the biggest yawning logic gap is when people overlook humans' love for utility. The marketplace of ideas that is the entire scientific project.

For example, Covid is kinda sorta a big deal for humans right now. It's been in the news lately. If Ivermectin works...why aren't lots and lots of humans using it? Why aren't the results of studies pouring in from all the people testing it and clamouring to find out if it really does work.

Is it because of some massive conspiracy by Pfizer? Or is it much simpler than that. Mankind isn't using Invermectin en masse to treat Covid, because it doesn't work.

We are using the vaccines, because they do work. Humans love to use things that work, especially when it's a matter of life or death.

The best example of this are 'alternative medicines'. It's a very simple question. If apple cider vinegar cures hypertension, if essential oils cure cancer, if these simple things cure the biggest threats to human life, why aren't humans using them en masse? Because humans don't like using things that work? If these things actually did what some say, it would not be a big secret for very long. If Ivermectin and so on actually treated Covid, we'd all be using it. But we're not, because it doesn't.

And for anyone that claims that alternative medicine is legitimate because there are segments of the public that are underserved by the healthcare system:

1. Unchecked capitalism is literally what drives profitability in the healthcare sector in the united states, the problem is about greed, not science
2. Maybe shoving river rocks up your butt is good for your aura because that's the kind of poop that drives underserved women who are disillusioned by modern medicine to Goop.

Profitability also drives pseudoscience. I had an ex who was a hypochrondriac. All her legit doctors, after a lot of tests, started hesitating to refer her to specialists and wouldn't prescribe things or do further tests - even though they would have been able to bill for that. Because it wasn't medically the right thing to do.

She would then go to every homeopath and naturopath and everything else under the sun, and they would all agree oh yes, you're really (frank)ed, here is all this stuff I can sell you. There was no profit in telling her the truth, which the medical doctors did.

My favourite now is this idea that vast majority of a country like Canada have chosen to use the vaccine because they've been 'hypnotized' - by who or what is unclear of course.

I guess the explanation that most individuals decided to use inoculation against a novel pathogen because it works is just too far out there to believe lol
