He ruptured his ACL first week in December. Been waiting since then. Apparently, it’s common and they saw some lumps on his meniscus on his other leg and he’ll probably need another in 6-8 months. Thank God for insurance. It’s $7,000

I've told this a few times before, but what the hell, it's Friday.
Our old dog blew out her knee.
Took her to the vet, they ran x-rays, or whatever they do. Spoke with the vet: she said it was going to be X amount (let's say $7 thousand - it was around there) but that typically what happens is that the dog will blow out the other knee while rehabbing the first one, so budget for another operation. Told us to come back in a few days for the results.
So a few days later, I'm sitting in the waiting room, worrying about both my dog and my bank account. I'm just listlessly staring out the window.
AND DOUG FRANKING GILMOUR WALKS BY!!! DOUG MOTHERBOZAKING GILMOUR!!!
For a brief moment, I'm calm and relieved. This is a sign. My dog is going to be all right.
And then I remember: Gilmour's career ended when he blew out his knee.
Damn.
Turns out no surgery, but the dog was never the same. She basically became a house dog - in her last few years, she couldn't walk around the block.
True Wedgie Story.
